Shoe Wall

Good morning! I  hope you all are having a wonderful week. Yesterday I shared some pictures of the progress we have made so far in Lillie’s room. We still have more we plan on doing in her room but Lola’s room is pretty much done for now so today I wanted to share the details of her room, including her shoe wall.

Just like in Lillie’s room, we used all of her furniture and bedding and accessories from her last room. She went with me to pick our her paint and I love the color she ended up with. Then her main request for her new room was a shoe wall like the one in the Tarheel locker room but there was no way we could replicate that in her room – haha! So we tried to find a simple more budget-friendly option. Initially we considered using some white floating IKEA shelves but they didn’t have great reviews and after a little hunting on Amazon I found these clear floating ones which were a great price and had great reviews. They were really easy to install and I highly recommend them. We love how it turned out! For now we started out with two packs of six but the way we have them on the wall allows us to add one more pack of six with three on each end somewhere down the line (so that is why the layout right now looks a little bit funny).

And then her other request was to have a ceiling fan. We found this industrial style one from Hunter and love how it looks with the rest of her room.

Here is the before (sorry, I don’t have any good before shots – I had to grab screenshots of a video my husband took for me before we moved in):

And then here it is once we’d painted her walls:

And here it is now:

You can see in this shot how on the two end rows we just have one shoe for now but eventually we will order one more pack of the floating shelves and add three more on each end to replicate the middle row and that will finish it off. But for right now even to fill these ones we had to steal a couple of pairs from my husband to fill them all out.
