Woven Shades in the Living Room

Good morning! Although our living room isn’t finished (and I have lots of plans for the kitchen down the road) I have finally finished painting the walls white in our main living space which includes our living room, breakfast area and kitchen. I also painted the built-in bookshelves beside the fireplace and the fireplace surround and finally got some woven shades hung up in all the windows in here which really helps warm up the space!

If you missed some of the other spaces we have shared so far in this home you can find them here: Pool Area, Entryway, Study/Office, Dining Room, Living RoomLola’s Room, Lillie’s Room, Mudroom, and Laundry Room.

Here is what it looked like on the day we moved in:

And here it is now (the light fixture is just temporary until I find the right one, and then this one will move upstairs in our hallway): Woven Shades in the Living Room

Woven Shades in the Living Room
This little area drove me crazy because the window casing was higher than the door casing. This is the before:

To help it look better visually I  hung the window shades as an inside mount and then hung the shade for the door up on the trim so that they were all at the same height. Then I hung  drapery panels between them and now this space feels so much warmer and visually is more cohesive.

I  am itching to tackle our kitchen but for now the simple changes we’ve made helps make the space feel more cohesive.

I love how the woven shades in the living room help make that far wall not so blank.
