Good morning! I couple of weeks ago I shared some photos from a tour I took of Bassett Furniture’s Bench*Made factory in Virginia. The week before that I took a visit to their upholstery factory in North Carolina. It was the first time I had ever been in a factory and I really didn’t have any idea what to expect. I actually assumed it might be kind of boring, but boy was I wrong. It was absolutely fascinating. I was there for several hours but honestly could have stayed all day watching it. I literally got to watch our new sofa being built from scratch. In just a couple of hours I saw it go from pieces of wood and springs to a fully finished sofa! It was incredible! I also got sidetracked watching some other pieces being built. It was just so cool to watch!

Bassett is a century old American company with a tradition steeped beautiful design. The beauty of their furniture though, goes deeper than its surface: it’s the beauty of a well-constructed, hardwood frame; a durable fabric; a high-density foam. Bassett is dedicated to the art of building furniture the old way. The best way. Their pieces are designed not only to be beautiful, but to last!

I chose the HGTV HOME Custom Upholstery Sofa. Here are some photos I took of our new sofa being built:

And here’s a little peek at it in our living room:

I’ll be sharing all of the finished pictures on Thursday!

They have so many gorgeous fabrics to choose from as well as so many different custom pieces of furniture!

I loved walking by some of the headboards that they were working on. And there were some leather chairs that were absolutely STUNNING! I wish I had taken a photo of them!

I love that Bassett is creating high quality pieces of furniture that are built to last and to stand the test of time. Along the the incredible quality and construction, another thing I was so impressed with was the ability to customize your piece!  I highly recommend finding your local Bassett store so you can see just how custom you can make a piece and how perfect they can make it for your space! And also you can read more about their Bench*Made line here.

I can’t wait to share the finished sofa with you later this week!

Warmly, Jenni
