Traditional Black and White Bathroom Before and After

The last couple of weeks I have been giving our master bathroom a little cosmetic makeover. When we moved in we were thrilled with the size of the space and the fact that we were going to have a large bath tub again. The fixtures and some of the other details of the room were not particularly our style but we figured with a few simple inexpensive changes we could make the space feel a bit more like us. From a design standpoint I would love to change some of the larger things like put it new cabinetry, a free-standing tub and add new counters but for me, even though some of these items aren’t ones I would choose if I  were starting from scratch it feels really wasteful to rip them out when they are all only a few years old and in great condition so we chose to work around those things and just make changes with paint and fixtures.  (Also I am racing the clock typing this up so sorry in advance if there are a bunch of typos. I will try to fix them tomorrow).

Here is the before:

And here it is now with just some inexpensive cosmetic changes:

The mirrors that were in here were really heavy feeling and I think by going with a very simple mirror and hanging it vertically it really helps to draw the eye upward and make the space feel larger.

Changing out the faucets really helped to dress up the space! And these were such a great deal!!! We are so pleased with them!

This lamp adds some height over in this corner and adds some soft light in the evenings.

I love these faux branches so much. I have placed three different orders for them now! And this soap dispenser is so pretty. I  have been using wooden tooth brushes for the last few years now and definitely would recommend them.

These Turkish towels are really pretty and a nice addition to the bathroom.

We added inexpensive wallpaper to the water closet and then found some great downloadable prints on Etsy to fill in some frames that we already had.

We found these prints on Etsy too! You can find the top on here and the bottom one here.

I  had initially put this framed piece in our kitchen but then when I started working on our bathroom I realized it would be perfect in here!
