Good morning! This will be a pretty quick post as we are at a tournament right now but, I’ve been playing around with a painting for our dining room that I’ve shared a few images of on instagram and today thought I would share some photos because I am a bit behind on some of the other projects I’ve been working on. I wanted to add something dark to the back wall in the dining room to help balance out the dark mantel in our family room (there is a large doorway that connects to the two rooms). I have always loved this cow painting from Ballard Designs but didn’t want to spend that much on it, especially not knowing if it was something I would keep up long-term so I decided it couldn’t hurt to try to paint it!

I used a framed canvas that I already owned from HomeGoods and painted right over it. The canvas was really textured which made it a little tricky but all in all it wasn’t too difficult when it came to the body of the cow. The face though still really needs some work. I need to soften it up a bit and also need to add a little to the tail. I went ahead and hung it though for now until I have time to finish playing around with it.

I love these little bunny egg cups from the Hearth and Hand line at Target!
