How in the world can my little tiny baby be two years old? Ahhhh! Almost two years ago exactly to the minute as I am typing this Jon and I met our beautiful little baby girl, Lillian Annabel Holmes. It is amazing how much you can love such a tiny person from the very moment you lay eyes on them! Here she is the day she was born.

And here we are headed home from the hospital with her. I forgot how tiny she was!

And here are some of my favorite photos of her from this past year starting with just after her first birthday. I had been planning on including her first year too, but when you see how many pictures there are just of this past year you will see why I cut the first year out. Actually, except for family, most of you will probably get bored about a quarter of the way through – sorry! I just had so much fun looking back through them all and remembering so many different parts of this year that I got a bit carried away! Actually some of the photos are more about the memory than the actual photo like the third and fourth ones.

I love you so much Miss Lillabel! Happy second birthday!

Oh and if you want read a poem her “Uncle” Jake wrote her, check out  Jason’s blog. Keep in mind though that most of his posts are filled with 100% sarcasm, although the one with the poem isn’t too bad =).

  10. Ummmm…your family is gorgeous! Everytime I look at your pictures I am like "Awwww! Oh, she's so cute! Oh, she's so pretty!" Love these-Happy Birthday to her!

  11. Yeah, thanks for including me in the fine print, Jenni… Also, I think most of these pics have been my computer and/or phone background at one point or another

  12. Jennifer…I think we are in a mutual admiration society! Seriously. Happy Birthday to your sweetie! Where did you find that darling ruffled dress..the one in the photo where she's looking over the fence? Love it.

Oh, and that shabby little chair…people have been telling you to paint? Don't paint it. I used to have one almost exactly like that. I LOVE it all distressed. People always told me to paint mine too. Wish I knew where it ended up…I think we lost it during one of our many moves. 😉

  13. Soooo cute!!! I can't believe you looked so perfect after just giving birth…no fair!!

  15. Happy birthday! Beautiful photos of a beautiful girl and a beautiful mommy. Wow, I wish I, too, could look like a model after giving birth. Oh yes, and even though I've overused the word beautiful already, you also have a beautiful blog. It's an inspiration.

  16. I just discovered your beautiful blog on someone's blog roll, and how happy I am that I did! Your Lillie is just divine, and your photos capture her magic perfectly.

    Happy Birthday, little one!

  17. How is it that you can look so beautiful after birth? Huh, huh tell us what is the secret?

  18. Happy Bday lilipie!

  19. Jennifer, she is such a beauty. I hope that I have a little girl one day and I can dress her as adorable as you dress your little one. 🙂 Hope Lillie has a wonderful Birthday!!!

  20. Happy Birthday to a sweet and beautiful baby girl! Your pictures just capture her beauty, joy and innocence. I think my favorite is of her Daddy kissing her in the shower. Just precious. Hold her tight and keep the pictures going because the next thing you know, she will be turning 5!!!! Oh how they grow!

  21. Little darling Lillie is quite photogenic and you are building a beautiful memory book for her with your photos. She also has an awesome collection of tulle skirts. Happy Birthday Lillie………………you are gorgeous! XO

  22. Thank you all for your incredibly sweet comments! I have to clarify one thing, though – that first shot was the day Lillie was born but AFTER I had showered and put a tiny bit of makeup one! Before that I was a trainwreck – I had been up for 72 hours, we'd been in a car accident, stood in the freezing rain while waiting for the police and medics and then rode the team bus back to Williamsburg before heading straight to the hospital where they induced me because of the airbag hitting so hard and I was in labor for 24 hours so needless to say I looked so horrific in the first hour or so after Lillie was born I didn't let anyone take any pictures of me until after I had showered – haha!

  23. Happy Birthday to sweet Lillie! What a beautiful & loving post for your darling little daughter. You do look amazing in that first shot of the two of you…I feel like it took me weeks to bounce back!! Enjoy this wonderful day with Lillie!! xo

  24. 1. seriously, it's not fair you look that great after giving birth! ha

    2. Lillie was and is such a beautiful little girl! Just so precious and her eyes stare right through you!! DARLING.

    3. You are so right, there is NOTHING as amazing as meeting your little one for the first time. Just takes your breath away!

    Happy birthday Lillie!! xoxo

  25. I just read this post, and I have to say how amazing your photos are! Would you mind telling me what photo editing software you use? Do you use actions or just the software settings? If actions, what are some of them? Thank you so much!

  26. Thanks so much Melanie! I use Photoshop CS5. I use a lot free actions – Pioneer Woman and Coffee Shop mainly and then have also splurged on some by Florabella and Paint the Moon. I really enjoy all of them! I also do a lot on my own first before I run an action to help "clean up" and sharpen a photo. Hope that helps!
