Good morning! Last week I had some fun doing some baking in some new ruffled baking dishes I got. I made some cinnamon bread in this ruffled bread pan and then made a brookie with peanut butter frosting in this ruffled baking pan. For the brookie I just layered some chocolate chip cookie dough on the bottom of the pan (you can find some links to our favorite cookie recipes in this post) and then layered brownie batter on top of that. Once it came out of the oven I added some of my favorite peanut butter frosting around the edge to dress it up a bit.
Here is what I used for the peanut butter frosting . I am not the best at measuring but this was pretty close to what I went with (I had quite a bit extra though so probably could have halved it):
PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter
1/2 to 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 to 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1-2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
Soften the butter. Beat the butter and peanut butter together until smooth. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk and beat on medium speed. Add more milk if needed. Stir in Vanilla. Makes about 2 cups of frosting.
To pipe this onto the cake I used a 4B tip (I highly recommend ordering this set). And I use these piping bags. They are large and hold up really well!
If you like peanut butter frosting here are a few other desserts it’s great on. Here is a layered cake (you can read more about and see a video of how we made it in this post):
And here is the easier to make sheet cake version:
And some cute little cupcakes:
I didn’t take any pictures of the cinnamon bread but here you can see the ruffled bread pan on the bottom shelf of our hutch:
And here are a couple other kitchen pictures I took that day:
Well, that’s it for today! Hope you all have a lovely rest of your week!
