We are nearing the end of our entryway makeover! Yay! Last week our new light fixture arrived and the following day I hung it with help from a couple of the women’s basketball players. I have hung most of the ones in this house that I’ve switched out myself (well, if you don’t count Lillie – haha!) so I have to say it was really nice having a 6’3″ helper holding the weight of the chandelier while I wired it.
I ordered the smaller size but it still is a bit bigger and has a bit more “bling” than I was expecting (which probably sounds silly seeing how I knew what it looked like when I ordered it) but in real life it has taken a bit of time to adjust to it. Haha! I originally planned on going with a lantern in here but the more I stared at how it would look from the angle where you could see the chandelier in our dining room I realized the lantern I liked really wouldn’t coordinate very well with that so I went a completely different direction. I thought this one would coordinate well with it, and I do think that but it is a bit more of a statement piece than I was planning on getting for the entryway – whoops! Haha!
Even though all the rest of the Christmas decorations were put away in the attic I left the garland on the stairway up so I could take pictures with the new light fixture seeing how I knew it was going to look quite bare once we took the garland down until I get around to dealing with decorating the wall going up the stairs.
After I took some pictures I took the garland down and it was back to our bare railing.
And here are a few more before and during shots:

Now I just need to add artwork on the wall with the thermostat and some kind of gallery wall going up the stairs and it should be finished.
I hope you all have a blessed week!
Absolutely beautiful!! I adore it!! May have to put one in my entryway. I love the bling. it is just perfect!! Emily Young
Beautiful! It looks so welcoming!!!!
Wow! What a pretty transformation!! It looks fabulous!
Thank you for sharing with us your beautiful home!
I think it is great! It may be more of a statement than you were intending but I think it is very appropriate for your foyer area and is stunning!
I don't think it is too much bling–it looks absolutely perfect in my opinion and compliments the entry well!! Love it!!
It's fantastic with your neutral walls and woodwork and flows beautifully with the dining room chandelier.
Have a great week!

I think it looks fabulous!! You are right. A lantern wouldn't look right. This coordinates so well with your dining! I have to say, I am a tad envious you have been to Williamsburg. 🙂 I have wanted to go there for so long. One of these days/years, I will make it out of the midwest out east. 🙂
It's beautiful and it does go perfectly with the dining room chandelier!

Lovely lovely lovely!
I think it looks great! Your home looks so beautiful…I can't believe everything you've done in such a short amount of time 🙂
maravilloso el cambio que has realizado. felicidades.
Perfect choices!…Chandelier is wonderful…

I think the new chandelier is a perfect compliment to the one in the dining room. The dark bronze on the fixture mixed with the crystals gives it more of a casual elegance statement. The dark doors and light grey walls are the perfect backdrop as well. Love it!
Love it! I agree that it goes beautifully with the view from the dining room. I would probably spend way too much time just staring at it:) Enjoy!
I like your choice of lighting in the entry, it isn't too much bling. It goes well with all your surroundings in your entry as well as other rooms.. good decision. I do have a question about the Bri Wax you used on the piece of furniture in your parents kitchen. Where did you find the BriWax and was it tinted? Thanks, Mickey
Thanks! I got it at Ace Hardware, but I can't remember if it was tinted or not.
It's very beautiful and perfect for the space, I think. I love your sweet home, it speaks of a very creative family living there. God bless!
It's pretty. I had vintage ones that I took down because I was trying to get away from the busy froo froo look. I have to say I am surprised by this chandelier. Enjoy!
Great idea using a helper (especially a tall one!) to install lighting. The chandelier is lovely and pairs really well with the one in the dining room.
I have the flush mount of this same light and I love it. What I would like to know is the price and location of where I could purchase the fixture you have over your dining room table? It is just what I've been looking for. Lovely. I love perusing your posts 🙂
Thanks! The fixture in the dining room is from a store called Savvy in Williamsburg, VA.
Congrats… it´s beautiful !!
Love it! It is more than perfect. I, too, cannot believe how much you have accomplished in such a short time…amazing!
Is it the large or small chandelier from PB? Also did you say its beadboard wallpaper?? Is that easier/cheaper than buying beadboard and nailing into wall? Thanks!
Hi Beth! It is the smaller one (see post). Also, we chose the beadboard wallpaper as it is both a cheaper and easier option.
Is it the large or small chandelier from PB? Is it beadboard wallpaper or is it beadboard? Which is easier/cheaper to install? Thanks!
I love the color "Simply White"! I'ts how I came up with the name of my company Simply White Vintage!!
Love it!
Love it!
I understand how it can be when you think what you order is just perfect and it turns out different from what you thought it would be. However, it looks beautiful!
Oh, Jennifer, I think the lantern would've looked great too – but this chandy is really pretty.: )
(Wasn't it the "Bolton" you were originally thinking of???)
Stay warm!

Beautiful!
Bling is good! Love it–gray always looks so nice with crystal.
I like it! It's definitely a statement piece, but it plays really well with the chandelier in the dining room. I think you made the right choice.
I think your new light fitting is absolutely PERFECT for the space. Love it!
I love the light and all the colors you have chosen. I can't believe how quickly you get things done! Do you have a crew behind the scenes?!!
The light fitting in the entry makes such a difference…it's so exciting seeing each room change so much!…xv

The perfect touch of bling! The basketball players are a great addition to Team Dear Lillie! Ha! 😉
What a lovely chandelier! Don't even for a second regret buying it! It fits perfectly with the repainted stairway. You have a beautiful home! Be proud of it.

Wow so funny!! my parents here in Portugal have a chandelier just like that one in their bedroom!! I love it!! it was my grand grand grand parents chandelier! =)
Jennifer, thanks to seeing your beautiful Mia Chandelier photos, I bought the large one and hung it over my 72 inch parsons dining room table. It is stunning!!! Thank you for being my muse! Your whole house is amazing.
I like it! I think it looks great in your entry way. Makes like a jewel box. :o)
Love it! I am currently completely stumped on my entryway right now! Have you hung your wall decor and gallery yet? I am thinking I want to do a small gallery since we don't have much wall space in our home except for upstairs. But i also need to put kids backpack area in entryway… so i'm just so confused as to what to do lol!
Thanks! I haven't added anything in here recently. I'm still working on other parts of the house, but eventually when I make my way back there I'll be sure to blog about it!
hi there – i just came across your blog and love it – you are so talented! thank you for sharing your ideas with the rest of us 🙂 we live in a cape code that seems to have a similar layout as the pictures you've posted…i am looking for 2 lighting options..one for our entryway, and one that hangs into our stairwell. because of the positioning of the door, we need a flushmount or semi-flushmount for the entryway, and i was thinking of a lantern for the stairwell. do you have any recommendations on pieces that might complement each other? otherwise, we could try moving the lightbox in our entryway, but this could be pricey. thanks for your thoughts!
Thank you so much! Hmmm we can't really think of anything off of the top of our heads. We really like the Mia options from Pottery Barn, but those aren't lanterns.
Hello, I absolutely love your stair runner. I bought 2 runners for my stairs, I will have to cut it, did u have to do the same or is your one long one? Thanks, you're such an inspiration
Thank you! Jenni actually ended up using a total of 3 runners. Two left her about a foot short.
Hope this helps!
