We have had the floor bare in the kitchen for quite a while now but I kept thinking it would be nice to try and add something in here to add a little warmth to the space. We found this rug at Rugs Studio and even though it had a plum accent color in it instead of the navy I was hoping for I decided to give it a try because I loved the vintage style pattern of it. The first day it arrived I was a little unsure, but by day two I absolutely loved it! I loved the way the pattern flows and the different colors – the grays, browns, plums and charcoals. Plus in a kitchen it will hide lots of stains – ha!
We also played around with a couple of other different ones including this plaid one. I loved how this one looked but was afraid it might show stains pretty easily and seeing how the girls love baking and cooking I decided against it.
And we also tried this smaller blue one. I absolutely LOVED the color of this one. The blues were so pretty and the pattern was beautiful. However, I didn’t like the smaller size quite as well in here (they have it in a larger size as well, but at the time I was looking the larger size was on back order although I think it is available now).

I love the rug you chose! The vintage faded style is great and looks like a winner to hide stains too! 🙂
Well done, as always!
l too love the rug you chose…it's absolutely perfect for the space…and l also agree with you that the blues in the smaller one were divine.
Love the rug you chose. It's gorgeous!
I love the latest one the best. It complements the colors in your kitchen perfectly.
Hi, I really like your rug in your kitchen. I have debated about getting one for my kitchen but worry about keeping it clean. How do you plan to clean kitchen spills and heavy kitchen traffic grime? I had a small one in front of the sink that was washable but just didn't have the look I want. Thanks!
Hi! Jenni plans to just do the usual spot cleaning and vacuuming on the rug, but she hasn't had any issues yet!

Hi, what size is the rug? I love it and trying to figure out what size is best for my kitchen. I'm thinking same size as Jenni's. Thanks!
Hi, Laura! Jenni went with the 5'3" x 7'8" size.

Hi, I absolutely love your kitchen. We are in the process of building and Ours is the exact same layout. Are those pendants the Orleans pendants ? What size did you get small medium or large?
Thanks Brittny! There is a link to the pendants in the source list but here it is as well: http://bit.ly/1UpjECD. We went with the medium. Good luck building your house! I am sure it will be beautiful!!!
Hi! I am in the process of redecorating my kitchen. I was looking at your before and after photos and I have the same wavy wood piece above my sink that you had. How did you get it out?!? Did you have to replace molding?
Hi, Lindsay! Jenni just was very careful and pried it down on her own (she didn't have to end up replacing anything, which was nice).

The roman shade was it made by you? I need this!
Thank you–Jenni made it herself!

So beautiful! I love all your work! What type of flooring do you have? I love it!
Thank you! The flooring was all their when Jenni and Jon moved in, so unfortunately they don't have any of the information on the wood or stain color.
