We are so thrilled to be partnering up with Birch Lane today as part of their spring refresh campaign! Along with sharing our post here today, we are also excited to be taking over Birch Lane’s instagram feed for the day. Each day this week a different blogger will be sharing a room they updated for spring. Yesterday Beth from Home Stories A to Z shared her beautiful living room and today we are going to be sharing our dining room.
When Birch Lane asked us if we had a room that we would be interested in partnering with them on for a refresh I got quite excited because I had actually just started the process of lightening up our dining room. I was thinking that I was finally ready to pull the trigger on some wallpaper in here so I painted the walls Dove White in preparation for that. However, the white has grown on me quite a bit these last few weeks so it may stay this way for a while. I do think I will eventually add the wallpaper, because I think it goes without saying that I love wallpaper, but I love the fresh clean feel that the white adds for right now and I love the mix of the white and black with the wood tones. Once I painted the walls I then switched the sideboard that was in here with the one in our family room that was under out TV and painted it with the same Mopboard Black as the doors in all of our house. I like that it’s a black with a slightly navy colored undertone to it so that I could go either with black and white in here or even a blue and white down the road.
After that we added the biggest additions to the room which were the gorgeous wingback chairs from Birch Lane. I absolutely love them. I love the texture of the fabric (we went with the Talc Basketweave) and the nailhead trim adds an elegant touch. The best part is how ridiculously comfortable they are! Like curl up with a book for hours kind of comfortable. In fact, I think they may make their way back and forth between our dining room and our den. Ha!
Then we worked on a fun but easy spring centerpiece for the table. I think white beaded dishes are one of my favorite ways to brighten up a kitchen or dining room. I especially love these square plates from Birch Lane. Then we added this beautiful marble and wood cutting board and some inexpensive grocery store tulips and eucalyptus and a few faux pears.
Over on our sideboard we added some topiaries. They add such a nice pop of color over on that wall and because they are faux don’t require any maintenance – yay! Haha!
And I moved these lamps from HomeGoods downstairs from the guest room because I loved the height and texture that the lampshades added.
We added some more square dishes and some beaded canisters to our wood cabinet. Even though it can be fun to mix in some more colorful pieces sometimes, I particularly like how all of the white dishes and serving pieces look in the spring and summer. The cute little cake stand is one of my favorite HomeGoods finds.
And then one final spring-like touch we added in here was the botanical print. I love how subtle it is in the black and white.
I stole the curtains from Lillie’s room to try down here for a few days. Although it’s not ultimately what I want to do in here for draperies I did end up liking how the contrast of the trim looked in this space. And we added a lighter runner for the table and some faux pears from HomeGoods.

Very Pretty! I love how you have mixed and matched the different wood tones of the dining furniture as well as some painted pieces. And I really love those wingback chairs!
Such a beautiful and fresh way to welcome spring in your dining room! I love all the changes, Jennifer. As always, thanks for sharing your sources.
Happy almost spring.
Cheers,
Loi
I love how the mirror bounces the light all over the room…makes it seem bigger..I also love the chairs..all of them…the two on either side of the buffet are even different from the dinning chairs and i totally dig that…provides loads of depth to the room.

Gorgeous with a capital 'G'!!
when you announced that you are going to paint your dining room I screamed " how can you do that to your perfect dining room?",then I looked at it like somebody who examines a stranger, and of course fell in love like always. The same happened when you changed the den decor, and by the guest room-Lillie`s room switch. I admit your home is my love affaire!:))your work is just PERFECTION!with capital P!

Just wondering about the color Dove White– I am having trouble finding it. Any chance it is BM White Dove?
Hi! Sorry, you are correct! It looks like Jenni accidentally wrote it backwards.

Where did you get the knobs that are on your sideboard? I love them and would like to find them or ones similar for mine. Thanks!
Thanks! Jenni got hers at HomeGoods!
