A few weeks ago I shared some pictures of our upstairs hallway with the progress we had made so far and today I am going to share it now that it is basically finished! I am going to switch out the shades on the lamps for either cream or possibly black ones once I find ones in this size and then I may switch things up a bit seasonally but otherwise it is finished.
I don’t like change. I resist it like my toddler does a spoonful of spinach: I see it coming and hide my face. I have been planning this shared bedroom since before Christmas but I’m not sure if I will ever pull the trigger. I love routine and loathe transitions, and even though there are many benefits to bringing Lucie (Eloise…who we call Lucie but I like to throw her real name out there every now and then so we don’t forget it) downstairs with the rest of us, I am hesitant to upset the balance when they both sleep well.
We often get asked about all of the beautiful artwork by Deann in our home. One of the pieces we get asked about the most often is this beautiful floral piece called Courage to Bloom that we hung in our dining room in our last house.

Our new mantel is finished and I am so excited to have this project done!
Today I wanted to show you the family room side of this space with our new rug that added the finishing touch. When I first saw this Villa Rug on our sponsor, ESaleRugs website, I thought it would be perfect for our master bedroom, however when it arrived I saw how it looked in our family room and realized I loved it even more in here!
I am so excited that our family room and breakfast nook are finished! Woohoo! Well, technically there are still a few things to finish up but the big projects are done and today I am going to start with sharing our breakfast area and new window seat.
First let’s start with how the room started.
