An Inexpensive, Easy Valentine’s Gift with a “Sort-Of” Recipe

Today Lillie and I made some Valentine’s gifts.

Back in either high school or college I was baking one day and mid-way through realized I was short on ingredients (sadly I still do that all of the time – just ask poor Jon about the chicken I made the other night!) and just randomly decided to start improvising and then for some reason decided to roll the batter and dip it in chocolate (I don’t even remember what it was I was attempting to bake, it was so long ago, maybe peanut butter fingers?) Anyway, I devoured them and they quickly became my FAVORITE snack and soon I got my family addicted to them too.

How We Made Our Slipcover for Our Ottoman, My Cute Little Helper, and a New Mirror

We had a lot of people ask how we made the ottoman slipcover in our post a few weeks ago. I figured seeing how it is an inexpensive way to spruce up an old ottoman or a great project to do if you can find an cheap one at a thrift store to start with as your base I would try to take step by step photos when I made the second one.

These are not the before or after shots – these are the during shots! On Friday night with my parent’s help we switched around a bunch of stuff between Lillie’s room and the guest bedroom. As of a few months ago we thought we had the room situation all figured out.

The Arabelle Faerie Tutu and a Visit from Mimi and Papa

Sorry I haven’t posted in a week! I really do have quite a few posts planned: some valentine’s projects, a ottoman slipcover tutorial, Lillie’s bedroom (long story but we changed it around again), plans for the nursery, the next round of script pillows, some new designs, etc… I just haven’t had any time these past few weeks.
