As if there weren’t enough scenic spots around Bluestone Hill, Uncle Bob had to go and add a gazebo. 🙂 Although we haven’t had a lot of picnics out there yet (mostly because I’m lazy and don’t like to carry Lucie’s booster seat out from the house), Everly loves it when we do!

When we moved in, the kitchen cabinets and all the trim in the family room were blue, and while I had always liked the bright, colorful look for Uncle Bob, it was too bold for our style. This was the first room we tackled, and after many weeks of painting every nap and bedtime (oh, back when both children napped a solid two hours every day!…it wasn’t so long ago and yet it seems like such a distant memory) all of the cabinets and trim were a nice, fresh white.

Welcome to Uncle Bob’s garden. When I was younger, there was a pool where you see the brick and fountain, and we played “goofy” in the water, then munched on Parmesan Goldfish as we dried off. I had a birthday party here the year I turned 8. (One of three that year, I believe.

I found this secondhand bench years ago and recovered the dated fabric of the seat in a cream and brown pinstriped fabric that went well with our bedroom that it was in at the time. However, since we moved to Uncle Bob’s and we have so much white and blue in the house, it has been looking dingy and nagging me every time I walk by it…which just so happens to be about 20 times a day.

I am so excited to share a preview of Everly’s bedroom! Tempaper sent us this beautiful gold peony wallpaper that covers the upper half of the only wall with sheetrock (the rest are pretty much built-ins and windows). It is such a lovely, fresh spin on traditional floral wallpaper and adds the perfect touch to the room.
