Well, here is Lillie’s new room. There are still two things that aren’t quite finished. We have a new sign that is going to go on the wall to the right of her desk and I’m on the hunt for a larger storage type bench for under her gallery wall but other than that her room is pretty much finished so I figured we would go ahead and share the pictures.

For the last two and half years I have been on the hunt for a hutch for our dining room. At one point I gave up and built some shelves but still continued to hunt for the perfect piece for this spot. Although I mostly was looking for a hutch I also kept my eye out for bookcases too because I love the way they look filled with beautiful serving pieces and I figured if I couldn’t find the right hutch maybe I could find the right bookshelf or cabinet.
Although it’s not quite finished, I thought we we share some images of Lola’s new room today. This room was a little trickier to work on than Lillie’s new room because we were torn on keeping the wallpaper and we wanted to incorporate a real regulation sized basketball hoop into her room.
Although it’s not completely finished, we have made enough progress in Lola’s room that I went ahead and photographed it yesterday so as soon as I can finish going through all of the photos and get a post written up (hopefully by tomorrow or Monday!) then I will share it with you all along with a detailed source list.
Winter has finally arrived and it is COLD outside. Once the Christmas decorations come down the house always feels a little bit dreary in January so sometimes even just adding a few fresh flowers like these hydrangeas and some fresh eucalyptus that we can generally find for a great price at Trader Joe’s can help brighten things up a bit.
First, a little disclaimer, the way the light comes in this room makes it very tricky to photograph particularly this time of winter so try to ignore all the bright spots and shadows – ha! Nothing in this room is new, it’s just a merging of our two guest rooms now that the other one has become Lillie’s room.
There’s definitely some things I’d like to change in here like the lamps and possibly adding something above the bed and I am thinking about a couple of other things to mix it up a little more, but here is how it looks for now with just the merging of the stuff from the two rooms.
