Now that it’s September we’ve started adding some autumn touches around the house. Despite a lot of hunting for them we haven’t come across any real pumpkins yet and it’s still quite hot here so I’m hoping that by adding a few darker cozy touches to this room will help make it feel like fall is on the horizon.

I took these pictures a few weeks ago and finally am getting around to posting them. We haven’t changed much in here but we did add a painting above the fireplace (and moved the mirror that was there to the upstairs hallway). This painting was my grandfather’s and my mom kindly passed it on down to me because she knew how much I loved it.

We’ve been busy working away on two bedrooms upstairs but neither of them are ready to photograph yet. Our guest room is completely painted and the furniture all in place I am just waiting on the new light fixture to arrive (it’s supposed to be here today – yay!) and I need to add a few more accessories.

This room will be far the most boring transformation of all the decorated rooms I show you in our new house because we changed by far the least in here. Well, at least for now. Eventually we may be making some bigger changes in here but we haven’t decided yet.  And it’s probably the least my style, but it is a cozy little room!

Although we are slowly making our way through the house painting all of the trim (London Fog in the kitchen/family room and Simply White throughout the rest of the house) we haven’t decided for sure yet what we are going to do in this room.
