Here’s a look at our autumn sunroom at Bluestone Hill! If you’ve been following along for a while, you might have noticed the large framed Gettysburg print that was our great great uncle’s, because it’s made the rounds around the house. I play musical art, which is a nice, free way to change up a room.

When my husband and I lived in our first house, my brother used to claim that we had painted every room 5 times. (He had a little room to complain, since he helped paint a few of the rooms and some siding…and I accidentally dumped a can of outdoor paint all over him and ruined his shirt.) While this is a gross exaggeration, there is truth in the fact that I have a difficult time making a decision and sticking with it.
We recently made a fun change in the sunroom. The left wall had previously had a green and white wallpaper on them, and I had painted right over the wallpaper as a quick fix last spring with Benjamin Moore Wales Gray. The lines where the strips met up were faintly visible, but not too badly.
Since this room is really more of a three seasons room, we haven’t been using it much lately, but I decided to go ahead and put some greenery and a few pops of red out here for the holidays. On a sunny day, it actually heats up pretty nicely in the afternoon, but it was NOT sunny when I took these pictures and I had to wear a hoodie, one of my husband’s hoodies over that, and gloves to take these.
I have a little bit of trouble with fall colors. I love them in other people’s homes, and they seem so warm and cozy and get me all excited for pumpkin patches and apple picking, but they just don’t seem to fit here. I love the season, but the deep, warm colors just leave me perplexed.
