I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your January! We are finally back home after a lot of holiday traveling and I can’t wait to get back to work on our new home. We got back late Monday evening and yesterday I got all of the Christmas decor taken down and then lugged it all back up to the attic and then got unpacked and organized from our trip, did tons and tons of laundry and hung our new chandelier in our dining room that had arrived while we were gone. It felt so good to get all of that done so I can now have a clean slate to get back to work on. Now today I can’t wait to back to painting! Actually, I hate painting, haha! But I can’t wait to just get back to making over some more of the spaces in our new home. I can’t decide if I am going to paint and stain the new counter in our laundry room or start painting my office, or tackle painting the front door and the doors in the hallway…
First though I wanted to share the final before and afters of the upstairs of our last home. It’s killing me having to rewrite this entire post – ha! I had written one long post Sunday evening that I spent over four hours on and somehow it got lost so I quickly rewrote the downstairs Before and Afters and posted that Monday and now today will share the upstairs ones.
First up is our Master Bedroom. This is actually is one of the more simple makeovers up here. It was just painting all the trim, doors, and windows and then the walls and then the fun decorating part. We actually changed things around a fair amount in here like pillows, bedding, dressers and rugs, but here are my favorite photos of it:
*sorry about how wonky all of the fonts are throughout this post. I have tried everything and it’s just not cooperating – ugh!

Jennifer, can you explain please….did you prime all of your stained woodwork? If so, can you share what product you used please? I'm ready to start painting. It's all so beautiful. We are so fortunate to be able to follow you and see your beautiful home. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Thank you, Lisa! Yes, we primed all of the woodwork before painting it.
You can find posts with more detail on that here:

and here:

I hope you have a wonderful New Year too!
You are my hero for rewriting this entire post. You did such a beautiful job with this house. Can't wait to see the next one! Happy New Year!
Just beautiful! If you don't mind me asking, was the rest of your exterior brick like your porch? If so, what color was your front door? Having a difficult time narrowing down a color scheme with our brick home. Can't wait to see what you do with your next house!
Hi, Grace! The exterior of Jenni's home was entirely brick. She went with the same color on their door as we used on my old home. I believe it was called Templeton Gray (by Benjamin Moore). You can find a post with some pictures of it here: http://dearlillieblog.blogspot.com/2013/06/jasons-new-front-door-color.html
Hope this helps!
-Jason
Just beautiful! If you don't mind me asking, was the rest of your exterior brick like your porch? If so, what color front door did you have? Our home is brick and am having a hard time with color scheme! Can't wait to see what you do with your next house!
So Jennifer – my question is, when exactly do you sleep? Actually I've always wondered that about you! 🙂
We purchased our first home about four months ago and it has been a huge project – every surface needs paint, everything needs a makeover. I know it will all be worth it when we're done, but I have to say that you and your blog are the single biggest point of inspiration for me that this can be done. Seeing your 'before' and 'after' pics makes my jaw drop every time. Thank you for working so hard to get all these images up for us, because let me tell you, they are so appreciated! It's so inspiring to see what you've been able to do with these spaces, and gives me hope for my own space in progress. Your blog was one of the first I ever found and I find it every bit as inspiring today as I did 5 years ago. Thank you and can't wait to see more of your new home!
Sarah
You are so sweet, Sarah! To be honest, I don't really sleep much – but I wouldn't recommend that. I've aged about 15 years in the last 5 – hah!
The best transformations EVER!!! I'm really impressed! LOVELY!
I could look at how you transform rooms forever! Simply incredible! Thank you for sharing your gifts with all of us here in blog land. It certainly helps me with my own house!!!
Loved all of it! What an amazing amount of work! You can come to my house now 🙂

Could you tell me which drapery rods you normally use from Lowes? I was looking for a basic aged bronze. Thanks so much!
Can you tell me which curtain rods you use at Lowe's? Thank you so much!
Hi, Stephanie! Unfortunately Jenni got them between 3-4 years ago so she couldn't remember which ones they were.
