We’ve been busy working away on two bedrooms upstairs but neither of them are ready to photograph yet. Our guest room is completely painted and the furniture all in place I am just waiting on the new light fixture to arrive (it’s supposed to be here today – yay!) and I need to add a few more accessories. Our master bedroom is midway through being painted right now so it’s a total disaster. I finished up painting the trim yesterday but still need one more coat on the windows and then I will attack the doors (there are SIX doors – ugh!) and then walls.  I thought I would share some photos of what some of the other rooms look like now with all the Christmas decorations put away. It always feel a little bare in January but I don’t mind it too much because it feels so much more clean and less cluttered after all the craziness of the holidays.  Anyway, I haven’t finished going through the pictures I took of the kitchen, family room or other guest room yet but here is our den:
Everything in here is pretty much the same. I just added a couple of Target pillows and pulled our Love is Patient Pillow Set back out. I added some dried hydrangeas from the fall to the chest behind the sofa and put our two amaryllis plants on the mantel. I generally use paperwhites and amaryllis for Christmas and then leave them out for another month or two afterwards to help brighten up the rather dreary months of January and February.

One project that I still haven’t gotten to is to either age or paint the pots. Eventually…

I still haven’t hung that gold mirror because I plan on putting a piece of artwork either there or above the mantel (there are too many mirrors in this room) but until I figure out exactly what I am going to do I like at least having the mirror there instead of the wall being completely blank.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

P.S. I still haven’t done a source list for this room like I have all the other ones so far but I will try to get to that soon!

  1. The woodwork is so beautiful and is shown off so well with all of your neutral furnishings. I would read and sip on my coffee in this room all the time. have a great weekend!

  2. Jennifer: I like this room, with the dark wood; I find it very restful and I like the round mirror above the fireplace. It is a nice mix with the straight lines of the wall. Everything you do, looks nice. You, again, have made a house your home. Happy New Year, Cindy

  3. Everything looks so nice! Are the amaryllis real or artificial? If they are artificial, where did you get them? I love how they look!

  4. I love this room. It is so fresh and clean feeling yet so cozy:) Please tell us where you found the amazing bird prints.

  5. Love the wood around the fireplace. . .so warm and cozy.. . my favorite room in your house!

  6. I love your balance of dark and light, it adds a nice contrast and a lot of interest and is so refreshing. And the bowl of apples…love it! I would think only in the summer or fall but it looks just perfect! 🙂

    XO,
    Jane

  7. Hello beautiful Jennifer. I found you through Cedar Hill this morning. Oh-just look at all I have missed not knowing you before. I am your newest follower and you are already on my sidebar so I don't miss a single post. Can't wait to go back and read some of your old posts! Blessings- xo Diana

  8. My mother had an old steamer trunk like that one, but it didn't survive when their basement flooded. I'm curious if you're going to eventually paint the trim and door in here, like you're doing in the rest of the house, or if you're going to leave it natural. It's a great space–beautiful!

  9. I thought I'd have a lazy morning, puttering around in my nighty, but instead, I'm running off to Target immediately for those pillows! They won't look quite as lovely in my house, but….

  10. Your den is very beautiful, I love the dark wood on the fireplace wall. The white sofa and chairs are perfect for this room!

  11. Love those pillows too! I looked at our Target on Friday night and didn't see them there:(

  12. I love that this room isn't "exactly" like the rest of the house, trim not painted. I'm sure it's been tempting, but kind of makes it special. Where did you get the two chairs in there? I love the size of them. Thanks, Donna

  13. I love how warm and cozy this room feels. Your talent comes out perfect in every room. I absolutely adore those high back chairs! Wonder if you can tell me the height of the back of the chair. I think it is the model that has a height back of 45 inches. I wish I lived closer to Savvy. Thanks, Beth

    1. Thanks, Beth! We love them so much too! Unfortunately though I don't know the exact height, and we are not at home (they are pretty tall though). If you called Savvy though they might be able to give your the exact info.
