Hot Chocolate Bombs with Gingerbread House Topper

Hot Chocolate Bombs with Gingerbread House Topper

Good morning and Happy Saturday! It’s crazy to think that Christmas is now less than two weeks away. We’ve made hot chocolate bombs twice in the last week or so and love them so thought we’d share them here as well. I also have been wanting some of these cute little gingerbread mug toppers for the last couple of years and finally splurged and ordered a pack of them from this cute little Etsy shop a couple of weeks ago and I love them so much! They are the cutest little things and taste absolutely delicious. They are wrapped individually so make a great little gift too!

So for the hot chocolate bombs here is the recipe we used.  The first time we made the shells a little too thick (it was fine but it took them longer to break when we poured the steaming milk over them) so the second time we went a little lighter on coating the molds.

Here’s what it looks like before you put the two little round shells together. The first time we made them we followed the recipes suggestion on how to get them to stick together but the second time we just used a little bit of the leftever melted chocolate and skimmed it around one of the rims and them put them together and for us that worked easier!

And here they are! I drizzed mine with caramel but everyone else prefers them plain.
