Good morning! As I mentioned in the post with Lola’s mood boards earlier this week, I am about to tackle some cosmetic makeovers for Lillie and Lola’s bathrooms. It’s funny because this house is quite a bit smaller square footage wise than our last couple of homes but it has more bathrooms. That was actually one of the things the girls loved most about this house – having their own bathroom. Like the other bathrooms in this house, all we plan on doing is just kind of making them feel more personalized and custom by making some simple cosmetic changes like adding board and batten to the walls, changing out the mirror, sconce, and faucet and then adding some pattern in either with wallpaper or a fun patterned shower curtain.
So here is the before:
Lillie’s mood boards are all very very similar looking because we pretty much zoned in on this wallpaper right away (it looks like it will coordinate nicely with her bedroom wallpaper, although we are waiting on the sample to arrive to confirm for sure) and it has the fun feeling she is drawn to. Besides that, her only real request for the bathroom was that we somehow find a way to subtly incorporate volleyball into it. So we found a few different downloadable print options on Etsy to hang on the wall and she is quite happy with the plans.
This first mood board is what we would do if we were going to fully renovate the bathroom and swap out the vanity and rip up the tile. So this option is kind of the “full” version of what we’d like to do although we are not going to be swapping the vanity or ripping up the tile but this was the “full” inspiration:

However, because we are going to be keeping the vanity and the black counter tops we then played around with the same general elements but included a vanity that looks very similar to the existing one. (We aren’t replacing it, but putting this similar looking one on the mood board helped us find a good overall look for the space that incorporated some darker elements to balance the dark counters). Although we may ditch the elephant toothbrush holder and make our own volleyball soap dispenser and toothbrush holder seeing how we haven’t had any luck finding anything online. We like how the darker volleyball prints balance out the existing dark counters and this was her favorite mirror option.

I did play around with one darker wallpaper option but it didn’t feel like her at all so we quickly nixed it. I do think it would be pretty in a powder room though!
