New Tufted Chairs, Nest Pillows with Blue Eggs and He Has Risen Pillows
Since early last fall I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of matching chairs for our living room. I found quite a few options that I loved but they were always way out of my price range. Well, a couple of weeks ago I ran into TJMaxx looking for something else and as I was racing through spotted these chairs. They weren’t what I had in mind for the living room but they were really inexpensive for chairs this size! I kept staring at them – I LOVED the color (it’s a tannish/grayish color that could go nicely with either gray or brown) and I liked the tufting but wasn’t a big fan of the overall shape. The price was so good, though, that I decided to give them a try. I still have to admit I am not crazy about the shape but I’ve decided to go ahead and keep them because I don’t think I’ll be able to find anything else for that good of a deal and if somehow I do, then I could always try to sell these on Craiglist. And all in all I think the scale of them is so much better in here than the little ones I had temporarily in this spot and now those ones can go back to their home in the dining room. =) Please ignore the legs on them in these photos. I plan on at least painting them, but maybe even replacing them entirely with a different style leg.

I really do LOVE the color and the tufting!

And we also have our “He Has Risen” pillow covers available again this year just in time for Easter!

  2. Jennifer I too love your chairs but I did notice the legs right away. How about something metallic? Like an antique gold, distressed and stained. And your pillows are beautiful as always. Thanks for sharing.

  5. i really like those chairs but i agree the legs need a little updating…i'm sure whatever you do will be perfect!

    i'm looking for a new chair for our den, right now we have an old ugly recliner that i'm praying will break soon! i've seen some on overstock that i like and the price seems reasonable but i hate to order something like a chair that i might not like.

    love the nest pillow covers, so pretty!

  7. I really like the chairs, Jennifer, especially the color and even the shape. The legs…yeah, maybe painted in gray or white or even greige. It's funny how you can fall in love with a piece after you have had it awhile!

  15. The chair color is perfect for your home. I agree with you about the legs….that is right whereby eye goes. A little it of paint for now will make quite a difference.

  16. Jennifer, I too have been looking for a pair of matching chairs for my living room. Those are absolutely PERFECT! I am truly thrilled you found those at one of my favorite stores ever! AND if you ever do decide to get rid of them, I will buy them! Oh my goodness I can't believe the cost of chairs…to me it's an outright crime what they ask for chairs…they cost the same as sofas do, what's up with that!? Ahhh, girl I just love your style! It feels like home. How I wish you could come help me do my home. Will you be going to the Haven blog conference in August? It would be an honor to meet you. Feel GOOD about your decision to buy those babies. I love how you described your shopping, sounds so like me, "I'm just going to rush in and see if they have ______."   18. What a great find, I love the chairs, and really like the style, especially the tufting, I agree with the legs, I'm sure you will come up with a great idea for those. I have seen many similar chairs with nailhead trim, that would look lovely too. Your pillows are beautiful, as usual.

And I appreciate your pics so much — I am really having trouble as to how I can divide our dining space from our front entry/sitting/piano area and kept thinking I need to physically divide with bookcases — I love how your accent chairs are back to back and create that divide! Onto Overstock to look at chairs 😉

    1. I paid $200 each for them. I saw them at my mom's TJMaxx for $249 though. And I've seen this exact chair online for $500-600. Most of the chairs I'd seen and loved were closer to $800-$1000.

  29. I HAVE THE SAME CHAIR I STAINED THE LEGS A DARK BROWN STAIN GOES WELL WITH THE REST OF MY FURNITURE AND IT IS AVERY CONFERTABLE. MY FAV PIECE.
