Whew! It was such a busy weekend. I am behind on taking photos so I don’t have anything new to share today (as soon as I finish our bedroom I will share those pictures) but thought I would show you a few photos of our first home. I had to pull out some old CD’s to find the photos of Jon and his Grammy from our wedding and when I did I found some old photos of our first home in South Carolina.  The pictures are awful and my style has changed a bit but still I thought it might be fun to show.

Here is the front of the house.

We used to love sitting on the front porch and swinging…

And we now have our Arabelle Tutu available for the first time since we reopened in September!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

  1. Your style may have changed, but I can see it has always been impeccable and timeless. I see no trendiness that dates these photos. When I look back at old photos of my house, I cringe at some of the choices I made based on what was popular at the time.
I especially love the night photos of the patio. Magical!

  2. Truly beautiful! I still see your style in your first home. It just has evolved more over time.I always love looking back and seeing where our styles have been and what they have become.

  3. Your home was so beautiful!! I love your yard, and front porch. And,your living room, and bedrooms are gorgeous.I love it all. I love your home now too! I also remember seeing your photos on rms.

  5. Jenni, everything you touch is perfection!!! You have a gift! That front porch is to die for! I love the width and the fact that the swing faces out. Absolutely lovely!

  6. your previous home was gorgeous! I miss our old home (we moved about 6 months ago), but it is fun having new decorating opportunities in a different house =)

  7. Your old home was beautiful and I love how you did the back porch area with all of the lights..How sweet is the mantle with the two stockings hanging on it..Time sure does fly..Have a great week..

  8. You are so profoundly and amazingly tasteful!! WOW. Whenever I visit your site, I do so with my jaw prepared to drop!!! It must have been hard to leave such a beautiful, and pristinely appointed home, but as one lovely door closed, an even lovelier door opened! You are such an inspiration.

  9. good morning… you blog makes my heart sing…I just love everything that you do and create…so lovely. I look forward to seeing each post…you have some talent, I'll say that. 10. Jennifer, these are such beautiful pictures. It appears that regardless what your style is, you pull it off effortlessly.

  11. Loved seeing these photos! I love both of your homes….just BEAUTIFUL!

Quick question…I haven't seen televisions in any of your pics. How do you hide them? PLEASE share!!!

  12. I have been following your blog for a couple of months and have been so inspired! Both your current home and the one in the photos above are so beautiful and elegant!

My three kiddos (4, 3 & 1) all share the same birthday week in September, so at least for now they have a combined (gender-neutral!) celebration. But I love your party photos so much that I'm contemplating letting the older two (my girls) host a tea party in the Spring just so I have a reason to throw a "pink party"!

  13. Lovely pictures of your old home. I can see some of the changes you have made with some pieces of your furniture. It all looks good. Question, will you be offering any of your silhouette pillows, such as the Valentine one, with boy versions?

  14. Just love these pics. I especially love the guest room with the cornices and drapes at the head of the twin beds. What are the cornices made of please and did you make them or purchase them? lin lbprich@bellsouth.net

  15. Thanks, everyone!!!

Alyson – In our old house we had a big armoire (the one on our back porch now) and in our current home it is on the wall opposite of the brownish couch. We've been asked quite a bit lately about the TVs so we will probably do a post on it at some point.

Laura – We won't have any boy versions of the pillow this year, but we've gotten a few emails about it so we will definitely keep it in mind for next year!

Lin – The cornices were made from two shelves I bought from Hobby Lobby, and then I just added the fabric!

  16. Oh my gosh, I love that house! It is what I imagine for a sweet home in South Carolina (we live in VT). I may just have to pin ALOT of those photos for inspiration ๐Ÿ˜‰

  17. A very beautiful home! The porch with the swing is lovely and the backyard is stunning all lit up. Each room in the house is gorgeous. Your style is simply stunning. Timeless and classy. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. I love the new Valentine's pillow!

  18. I have been following your blog for awhile now, I just love it! You are so incredibly talented, and creative. I think you can tell a lot about a person from reading their blog, you seeem like a very sweet and kind person. Love the pictures of your first home, it was very beautiful. I get inspired every time I visit your blog! Thank you

  19. Your old house was precious! I love your pink geraniums, and the little white lights and lanterns you put outside. Every thing about it was totally beautiful and charming! You have the most incredible design sense… you could easily do home design services as a living! I'd hire you in about 5 seconds if you were available!

  20. I always love your posts. Your old house was just gorgeous, but I wouldn't expect anything less because your current house is amazing! You are a very talented mama! ๐Ÿ™‚ I wanted to show you my new blog (to which you have been a true inspiration and muse to me). If you have a moment, please check it out. I have absolutely no one following me yet, but I would certainly enjoy your suggestions. ๐Ÿ™‚ http://www.designmepretty.blogspot.com xoxo Tess in Southern California…

  21. I wish my old house pictures were as elegant and tasteful as yours Jen! I loved your outdoor spaces the most!! I have been wanting to add black and white stripe panels to my outdoor area and your awning just made me love the idea even more!

  22. What a beautiful home! It makes me long for home…South Carolina. Where is SC did you live? I live in Georgia now but the homes in the city I live don't have the same character. I miss the older architecture. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me.

  23. I loved this house! You transformed it. I wish I still had as much energy as you do, to get all of these projects done!

  24. Hello. I'm a new follower. Your house is gorgeous! Love, love, love the chandelier in the guest bedroom. And the living room is so cozy. Beautiful!

  25. Just wanted to let you know that after finding your blog about a week ago and having a really good look around (it is absolutely beautiful by the way), I have just finished slip covering an old cedar wood chest that no longer went with my furnishings and am absolutely stoked with the result. This from somebody who doesn't sew and used an old sewing machine that is forty years old. Thank you so much for your tutorial.

  26. I've always loved ranch-type houses. They're not so big, and yet they give you ample room to fill 'er up. Somehow, the interior of your old house looks big though, so bravo on whoever did the interior planning!

  27. Your old house was gorgeous {the house you have now it too}, you must just have that magical touch on everything! Thanks for sharing, and I love the new pillow, very sweet~ Tara

  28. Your 1st home was darling and full of charm. Really, you did a GREAT job!!! Oh how I wish I had photos of ours. I have some where the home is the background of course but not many of the rooms and now it has been torn down for a Mc mansion. Breaks my heart because Dave proposed there as it was his house before we married.

    1. I have absolutely no idea! I'm so sorry! I know some of the other colors, but that particular room was just a random color I found after trying about 8 different shades ๐Ÿ™

  29. Hey Jen!
Do you remember the color of paint that was used to paint the brick on the exterior of your home? We will be painting our brick in the spring, and I have to pick out a good color. ๐Ÿ™‚
    T~

    1. Hi Tracy! Honestly, I'm not sure what the exact color was, because it was there when we moved in. We went to Benjamin Moore once when we needed to touch it up, and we just asked for a basic or generic white and whatever they gave us worked fine. I wish I could give you a better answer!

Loved the video of your son on the Lettered Cottage today! Lillie watched it multiple times this morning, I think she has a crush ๐Ÿ™‚ What a beautiful voice, and I love that song!
