Now that we finally got around to recovering the headboard it was time to try getting this room finished up. We got the rug moved back up here and then moved the desk over onto this wall to make room for the white sofa that was down in the den. We were going to start tackling some big projects in that room and so I convinced Jon to help me “just try” =) that sofa up here while we were working on the room downstairs. Well, it turns out the couch works perfectly up here so it’s going to stay up here. It’s actually a very small sized sofa (we bought it to fit in a small living room in our first home) and fits in here really nicely. We also brought the trunk up here to add to the end of the bed. Then we used some gift cards from our sponsor, HomeGoods to freshen up that side of the room – some new velvet pillows, a gray throw, some cute notebooks, a fun little horse head the girls love and my favorite – a canvas that ties everything together!
Eventually once we find a hutch for our dining room we will move the rolling cart shelves that we built up here and put it on that empty wall that you can see to the left of the sofa and I will use it to store some of my crafting supplies.

Absolutely beautiful guest room!
I love your tall side table lamps. Can you tell me where you got them? This room is beautiful.
Thank you, Bonnie! They are from HomeGoods!
Love love love this while room. Your use of black accents is perfect! I've always been afraid to use that much black! You do it so we'll!
Just lovely!! You do such a good job of pulling everything together- glad I'm not the only one who tricks my husband into moving furniture;-)
Your guests will have a wonderful space to retire to after a busy day. It's well appointed and beautifully decorated.
I might have missed it, but can you tell me where you got the striped black & white throw? Everything is so beautiful!
Thanks! It's from IKEA!
So beautiful….I love the idea of having a small sofa or oversized chair in a guest bedroom. It really gives your guests a nice place to stretch out and relax.
BTW….I ended up ordering the Edison Rug in Nickel that you use to have in your family room but moved to the bedroom. I really loved the color and had been looking for a 8'3 x 11 size area rug for a long time. So many rugs that I loved came in only 8X10.
Love the addition of the small sofa it makes the room so much cozier. Wonderful overall!!
What a great little sofa, and it does fit perfectly there! I love the softness and tone of the gray pillows on it too. The framed print of the tree is really cool… everything just goes together perfectly…
