Good morning! I can’t believe this week is already half over. Today I am going to share some step-by-step photos I took of a simple organic looking flower arrangement. I took these photos a while ago but wasn’t going to share them because this really wasn’t one of my favorite flowers arrangements. However, I still have tons of photos to go through and edit for my doll playhouse post and a few other posts I am working on and these one are already edited so I figured I would just go ahead and share them after all.
Here are the flowers I used: Bupleurum, Seeded Eucalyptus, Stock, Blue Thistle, and Hydrangea. For this particular arrangement I wish I had left out the hydrangeas and added in some more stock to keep it more organic and “flowy” looking. I usually fill my sink with water and keep all my flowers in there while I am working.
I usually start with my most “flowy” look greenery. Occasionally with some arrangements I add these in last but I’d say with probably close to 90% of my arrangements I start with them. So for this arrangement I started with my Bupleurum (also called Hare’s Ear). This is a great filler flower. I love it because it’s inexpensive, has a great bright green color and an over light airy feel to it!
Next I added in my seeded eucalyptus:
Now with the base set of my greenery I added in some stock. Stock is generally pretty inexpensive and adds height to an arrangement. I think I used four stems in this arrangement but I do wish that I had used eight and skipped the hydrangeas.
Next I added in some blue thistle. Blue thistle adds some subtle color as well as some great texture!
Now this is where I probably should have stopped and just added a few more stock and let is kind of have a wildflower type of feel to it.
However, I had already purchased the hydrangeas so I added them in too. I do like to add the largest flowers in last to fill out the empty spots and balance out the overall feel of the arrangement. And there you have it:
I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday! I’ll be back this weekend with some new pictures of Lillie’s room!
