Valentine’s Day DIY Heart Garland
When the girls were little I used to have fun adding some little Valentine’s Day touches throughout the house but honestly it’s been years since I’ve done that. I’ve done some Valentine’s baking the last few years (like this cake and these cupcakes and these mini cakes) but not really any decorating. I am in a bit of a holding pattern right now on a couple of bigger house projects so decided it might be fun to do a little crafting even if it is a little cheesy, so I decided to make a few little heart garlands for Valentine’s Day.
I ordered one pack of 20 these large wooden hearts and one pack of 100 of these small wooden hearts and painted some of them with some leftover SW Pewter Green I had and then stained some of them in Golden Oak and then just used a glue gun to attach them to some twine (for the larger hearts I used something similar to this and for the smaller ones similar to this). I was able to make 4 garlands out of the smaller ones and two from the larger ones so it was a nice inexpensive and easy project.
For the first one with the larger hearts I used the painted ones and put them above our sink:
Then I put one of the ones I made with the smaller stained hearts here on our hutch:
And here is another spot I added one of the extra small hearts with some putty:
Then I added another small stained heart one on the pantry door:
And then I added a small painted one over our little coffee nook:
And then the final one downstairs is over in our hall closet:
I’ve got another one upstairs in our laundry room and will share that this coming week – I still need to go through those photos. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
