A few days ago we had the pleasure of meeting Joan and seeing her beautiful home. Joan and her husband, Dan, have been restoring an old farmhouse in the New Hampshire countryside. If you have ever read Joan’s blog you know that her house is beautiful. From the moment I first saw photos of her home I fell in love with it. A lot of times when I have something built up in my head when I see it in “real life” it never quite holds up to the vision I had of it. That was NOT the case with Joan’s home. It seems hard to imagine, but it was truly even more stunning than it looks in her photographs. Each and every room is finished to perfection and her attention to detail is just incredible. I can truly say that it is by far the most beautifully decorated home I have ever been inside. I want to go back again and have more time to slowly go through each room (we had Lillie and Lola in tow so I didn’t get to take in the details). My artist side is dying to go back and spend hours admiring each space!
Joan and her dog Ella, who Lillie adored, were so gracious in having us and made us feel so welcome. And she even had gifts for the girls. She gave Lola this antique children’s plate with the alphabet on it. I can’t wait to display it in her room when we get home.
I hope you all are having a blessed Sunday! I will be back hopefully tomorrow (depending on how much I get done today) with the Jane Austen party pictures and the winner of the Je T’aime pillow cover!
What a lovely little treasure.
Okay….another blog I'm going to have to check out!! Thanks for the heads up!….Beautiful photos here too. I'll be looking forward to seeing who wins the pillow cover! … *holds breath* :-]
Lucky you to see her home in person. What a sweet gift for Lillie.

How fun! That plate is lovely! A fabulous little treasure for Lola's room, for sure! π
How lovely to be able to visit her home and how sweet of her to give the girls gifts! π
Dear Jennifer,
What a great antique gift for lillie! Sonething she will cherish forever! About the great pillows you make…I love them and I am excited to try and make my own from your great tutorial. However, I cannot seem to locate any blank pillow covers that I love. Do you mind me asking where you get yours? I love the color/texture of them qne they are a nice nuetral fabric. Thank you for taking the time to get back with me! I know you are busy prepping for the re-opening of your shop. π Susan
such a beautiful gift! I am utterly in love with her house. In fact, I'm utterly in love with your house too! Two of my favorite blogs, forsure. =)
What a sweet gift for Lola! I am a big fan of Joan's beautiful home too! Martina
I too am a fan of Joan's blog. Her house is amazing and I can only imagine how beautiful it must have been to see in person.
lovely. Wishing you a peace filled Sunday Hugs!
Susan – Thanks! We actually make the blank pillows using just basic cotton fabric. The one from Jamie's house was just a simple 100% cotton from JoAnn's. They are really easy to make. We haven't done a tutorial for them here but if you google it I am sure someone has done one. I would think Target might have some nice blank ones but maybe not.
Oh how wonderful. I have ben a reader/commenter/blog buddy of Joans from the start too. LOVE her home. How wonderful that y'all got to visit. What a lovely and thoughtful gift she gave Lola.
How neat to find Joan, what an inspiration she is to all of us with old homes. π
Hope you're doing well, sweet Jen!
XOXO,
Anne
