We had lots of fun this spring helping our friend’s Christina and Evan with a room for their sweet little girl, Amelia and adorable little boy Zeke. They have a new baby girl on the way wanted to get ready for her arrival by getting a room ready for Amelia and Zeke to share (and then eventually Amelia and her new little sister). It was actually a little trickier than we thought at first to find an overall look that would work both for a girl and boy but that still kept their personalities in the room as well. We probably erred a tiny bit on the feminine side but figured that was okay seeing how eventually it will probably be Amelia and her little sister that will be sharing this room, but for now we wanted it to still feel like a fun space for Zeke too!
One of the inspiration pictures that Christina shared with me was actually the exact same image I had used for Lola’s nursery several years ago so I was quite excited to go in that direction which was mostly sticking with browns, tans, taupes, creams and some white. It was a great neutral base that worked well for both kids. The walls were already painted in a perfect neutral color and then Evan added the feature wall which adds texture, interest and warmth to the room and makes such a great focal point.
We stuck with basic white bedding and then went with a traditional buffalo check patterned duvet and sham and then added some more pattern in with the the fun dotted drapery panels. One of my favorite accessories in the room is the oversized stuffed swan from Land of Nod. Amelia and Zeke love playing on it!
They already had a Land of Nod light fixture which was perfect for the room. And Christina recovered some headboards with a nice neutral fabric. We added a fun pom pom Euro sham and a basic white lumbar one to the buffalo check one to finish off the bedding.
On the beds we got new Christeli mattresses. They are so plush and comfortable and Christina said that Amelia has been sleeping later ever since she got it! And not only are they fabulous mattresses, the coolest part is they are HANDMADE in Greenville, South Carolina (which is a fabulous town) by a family run company that has been making them since 1931.
Some of my favorite touches are cute little dog and unicorn above each bed. They are just so cute!

That's sweet and will help those little ones with the new transition, for sure. I just read somewhere that siblings sharing bedrooms, even in a house with plenty of bedrooms, is a new trend. Nice.
This room is adorable! I love everything about it.
I absolutely adore this room! Such a beautiful space for the kids! ❤️
This space is perfect! Do you know the name of the fabric from JoAnns? I wasn't sure if it was a linen. Thanks!
Hi, Ashley! I believe it was Osnaburg.
