It’s crazy to think that a week from today is Thanksgiving! We have family coming to stay with us in just a few days so it was time to quickly get our guest room ready for them! I would love to add some character to this room by adding some removable wallpaper and possibly a plug-in pendant but we’ve only been here for a month and have been busy working on the downstairs and other spaces along with it being a busy time of year with clients, so for the guest room we pretty much just put Lillie’s bed in here on moving day and that was it. (Neither of the girls’ beds fit in their rooms here in our rental so we did a bunch of rotating beds. We are using them all, just in different rooms than they were in at our last house). So basically this room had a bed in it and that was it. Knowing we had guests arriving soon though it was time to make it more cozy and functional and we partnered with World Market to add some touches to the room to make it more welcoming for our guests.
We kept the bedding from Lillie’s room on the bed but then added this cozy pom pom quilt and shams. I love anything with pom poms! After that we added some beautiful green velvet pillows and a cozy green plaid throw to add some color to the space. We added some inexpensive nightstand to each side of the bed and then added these beautiful lamps. I love the color of them! Then we added these lamp shades which my girls chose because they reminded them of the spinning lantern in the Greatest Showman Movie (where they are on the roof top and sing, “A Million Dreams”). I may switch them to some white ones with gold liners but haven’t decided yet. We also added a faux cowhide rug to help break up all of the gray in the room.
We also filled a tray with gifts. This is a fun little way to add a personal touch for your guests. The bags hold little baby clothes for our little nephew who will be arriving in January and then I added some spa-type items like bath bombs, face masks, soaps, bath salts and other little things like that.
We can’t wait for them to arrive! I hope you all have a fabulous rest of your week!
