We had been somewhat undecided on what to do on this wall in Lillie’s room for the first several months of living here but then she got interested in learning how to sew so we decided to add a desk on this wall where she could set up my sewing machine (we keep it in the closet that is in the hallway outside her room). There were several other desks that visually I liked better for her room but we really wanted something with a good amount of storage and didn’t want to spend much money so settled on this one when it was on sale shortly after Christmas. I am going to switch out the knobs to dress it up a bit more and we’ve got a really cute chair coming but for now I stole this one from my office downstairs. Once I make those changes I’ll rephotograph this spot.

Today though I mainly wanted to share this new piece of artwork from Deann’s newest collection! We have several pieces of Deann’s and I love her work so much! Her newest collection called “On Her Own Wings“, features birds with deep meaning behind them. This beautiful collection includes paintings that speak of freedom, overcoming adversity, faith, and memories of loved ones.

I really love how it looks in Lillie’s room against her wallpaper!
