Happy Sunday! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Ours has been busy with basketball and volleyball. When I shared pictures of our master bedroom last week I mentioned that we moved the desk out of my office to make room for two matching desks in here. This visually wasn’t what I had planned in here. I had been looking for a larger sort of executive type desk with drawers but once school started I discovered that the girls were regularly pulling stools and chairs up to my desk and working next to me. Even though it wasn’t ideal, it was pretty much how we’d end up most afternoons so I decided to look into a large desk with two work areas. I couldn’t find one that I loved that fit the dimensions I needed though so I then started considering just putting two desks side by side. I thought it would might look funny, but ultimately when I saw the price and dimensions on these desks I decided it was worth a try. It’s definitely not what I had it mind but functionally speaking it has worked so well and I am so glad that we did it! The girls love it and I love that we can all be in here working together but still have plenty of workspace. And the large drawers are awesome! The desks also have built in chargers which is a fun feature and one I use every single day. I put coasters over them when we aren’t using them (that’s the round marble things you see in these pictures). The desks are kid sized so they are about two inches lower than most desks so I went with these chairs which sit a little on the low side (and are on wheels – so perfect for an office chair) and they worked perfectly – there’s even room for me to cross my legs while the chair is pushed in under the desk so the lower height didn’t end up being an issue at all!

I’d like to add some shelves above the desks but haven’t decided exactly what I am going to go with so for now I just hung a painting I randomly painted a few years ago. I like how it looks against the dark walls, but ultimately would like to add something more functional at some point.

Now that I’ve painted the walls in here and have the overall idea of this room figured out and I just need to add an ottoman, a larger rug, and a standing lamp in the corner and that should be it!
