I’ve been wanting to add some of this seafoam color in here for quite a while now. I figured I would wait until after the holidays once I was ready for some cheerful spring-like touches. One of the things I love most about sticking with a neutral palette is that it is so easy to switch around a few pillows or accessories and get a new look. It obviously doesn’t change things that much, but it does help me look around and feel like the promise of spring is on the horizon!

If you are new here, this is what this room looked like when we moved in this past summer:

And here is what the other side of the room looked like:

  1. What was painted first, chair rail or wall? My husband is inquiring. We have a chair rail in our bedroom and we're thinking of painting the stained wood.

  2. Wow, the before and after shots! I had no idea the room used to look like that. Incredible transformation. The touches of blue are great as well and do indeed remind us that spring is on its way.

  3. Your home is so beautiful…I always enjoy taking a walk through….thank you so much for sharing. –Marti

  4. Everything looks great, congratulations. I love all your post, and your house looks always so beautiful. How is the girls doing? I miss the post about your family too.

  5. Just beautiful. Question: how tall are your ceilings? They look like 8' but I'm not quiet sure. Thanks for all the resources too.

  6. Love the touch of seafoam … so pretty for spring! Your kitchen layout is similar to mine and I'm inspired to change a few things! Your home is beautiful!

  7. Jennifer, Are those galvanized baskets in your kitchen pretty sturdy? I was debating on purchasing them and wondered if they were flimsy or not. Thank!

  8. Are you happy with your ikea couch? We need a new one and I am contemplating ikea since our fan room is well lived in. What style is yours?
