Our Uncle Bob had a sign with this F. Scott Fitzgerald quote on it that had a prominent place at his home and I know every time I see this quote it brings so many fond memories to me and probably most of our family members, so this particular sign that we are introducing has particular sentimental value to us.

As soon as I finished painting this hallway a year a half ago (which was pretty much one of my least favorite painting jobs in this whole house because it involved all those annoying spindles and me balancing on a ladder on top of scaffolding!) I knew I wanted to do a gallery wall going up the stairs.

Well, a lot of people are probably going to cringe but we went ahead and decided to paint the study. I’ve spent two years going back and forth and I kept changing my mind. For a while I was convinced I liked it better how it was but then once we finished painting the rest of the house I started pondering painting it more and more.

Just popping in to say Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you all are having a wonderful day! We will be back tomorrow with photos of our freshly painted den.

And a fun little tip for a guest room is to have a tray on the bed where you can have anything from books to a vase filled with flowers or snacks to welcome your guest.
