If you have read this blog for a while now you know how much I love the beautiful shoes by Joyfolie. When I first got to know Jessica we were both selling our items on Etsy. Over the past few years Joyfolie has grown and grown and grown… Their shoes are now manufactured and have been sold at places like Anthropologie and on Piperlime and have been featured everywhere from the red carpet to People.com!
People often assume I only like neutrals and do not like color. Yes, I do prefer neutrals in my own home, but I have to say I do love color. Earlier this week I went ahead and used a TON of red on our back porch. I have taken photos, I just need to size and watermark them.
I made several of these yarn trees last year and used them in our dining room and in Lola’s room. They were so easy to make and I liked the simple yet whimsical look they have so we made several more this year, including a few pink ones for Lillie’s room!
Today I am going to show you how I made this rustic chalkboard for our dining room. I actually had it figured out in my head this summer and had planned on making this same frame for my parents when I was up in NH in early October. I even went and bought the wood.
I will be back in the morning with the tutorial I promised but just wanted to pop in to let you know we have a new Christmas sign in our shop!
Have a lovely afternoon!
As many of you know, I LOVE chalkboards. I normally just use my normal cursive handwriting and then just add some swirls and thicken some of the lines. This time, though, I wanted to venture a little more out of my comfort zone. I sketched it out on paper first and then lightly wrote with chalk on the chalkboard first and then once I got it how I wanted it I went over it with a chalk pen.
