When we did the first part of our kitchen makeover we removed the microwave over the stove and had a hood built. That meant that we needed a new spot for the microwave. I didn’t mind it being on the counter during the first part of our makeover, but once we put in the marble counters I wanted to find a better spot for it.

I shared our kitchen makeover last week so thought I would share the minor changes we made on the other side of the room today. We didn’t do a whole lot but we did change up a few things. First, because we added the bar overhang to the counter and some stools that meant we moved the table over about a foot and because of that the wire chandelier didn’t work as well so I took that back down and moved it out to the porch.
Well, it’s been almost 11 months since we moved in and we finally have our kitchen pretty much finished! We did it in two parts – (you can read about part one, which included replacing the appliances, painting the trim and cabinetry and removing that upper cabinet that awkwardly broke up the space) we did that pretty much as soon as we moved in and then we saved back up for part two which finally got finished up last weekend!
Well, I am still working on the detailed post of our new kitchen with the full source list but I figured today I would at least share a few pictures. My goal is to get the full post finished up and posted tomorrow. For now though, here are a few pictures:
I hope to be back tomorrow with lots and lots more photos and a detailed source list.
I’ve been wanting to add some of this seafoam color in here for quite a while now. I figured I would wait until after the holidays once I was ready for some cheerful spring-like touches. One of the things I love most about sticking with a neutral palette is that it is so easy to switch around a few pillows or accessories and get a new look.
Because I am not quite ready to take photos yet in the rooms I am working on upstairs, last week I went ahead and took photos of how the rooms looks downstairs now that the Christmas decor is all put away. It always seems a bit sparce at first but it also feels nice to have a clean slate.
