Thank you so much for stopping by! I am so very excited to be a part of Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday House Walk again this year!

Welcome to our home! Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, and now with two little girls it is even more special. I love using elements from nature in my decor and we have made many of the decorations in our home ourselves to keep our costs at a minimum. We live in an 1800 square foot townhome in Virginia. It is a middle unit and therefore does not have any windows on either side (just the front and back) which can make photographing our space a bit challenging, but I did try to take more overall shots of the spaces than I normally do so that you can get a feel for the whole space and how it looks at Christmas!
Here is the tree in our living room:
And here is the whole space:
And here is our dining room that is essentially an extension of our living room:

We made the yarn trees and the ruffle tree. I will try to get the tutorial for the yarn trees on here soon.

We also recently made the chalkboard which I have a tutorial for and will hopefully have that ready soon too!

And here is our kitchen and family room:

I will have more photos of our family room (including the chalkboard) soon!

And here are a few shots of little Lorelei’s room (I will have more later):

And then here is our master bedroom. I first tried a little red in here which just wasn’t right for this space. Then when I decided I would go ahead and do red on the porch this year I tried some of our pillows I made for the porch last year. It was okay, but I didn’t love it:

So I ended up with the simple gray and white that I find most soothing in here:

The only room space I haven’t decorated yet is our porch. I thought I would show you a few photos of how it looked last December seeing how I had not done the porch yet when I did last year’s tour so these photos were not in it. I am hoping to get to it at the end of this week but we shall see…

I hope you all enjoyed visiting our little home! If you have any questions about where we found things we have a FAQ’s page and a section with info about each room.  And we also have a tutorials section where you can find several of the projects seen in some of our spaces above.
I hope you all have a blessed rest of the week and a very Merry Christmas!!!!
Now head on over to Stop #3, which is a surprise house! If you haven’t ever been to this blog you are going to be blown away. I discovered this blog not all that long ago and it has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. Wait until you see her house. It’s gorgeous and so it her photography. And I just love her writing style. It makes me laugh out loud just about every time I read one of her posts. Just one warning: be ready to spend a while there!

I hope you are having an enjoyable December so far!

  1. House tours are my absolute favorite. Your home is so beautiful and the lighting always seems just right. I just moved to Virginia and I'm loving the warm December we are having. We are near Richmond, though. May be warmer from where you are. Have a lovely holiday in that cute home with your two sweet baby girls.

  2. Your home is utterly gorgeous, and so inspiring. You say that the surpirse home is one of your favorites (and I'm guessing I know who it is…Thistlewood is my guess?? =) but your home is one of MY faves. Adore it and your style.

  3. Jennifer!

You are the BEST! I am declaring myself the president of your porch's fan club.

    Truly.

You are such an inspiration and creative genius!

Merry Christmas to you my wonderful friend!

    blessings,
    karianne

  4. Exquisite! Awe inspiring. Every detail is a gift for the eyes. A much deserved feature! Your home is my favorite.
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home with us.

  5. Your home is beautiful and I love that you show others that you don't have to live in an antique farmhouse or Victorian to have a lovely home (although that would be really nice!) Thank for you the inspiration you give your readers all year! Blessings to you and your family this Christmas season!

  6. Amazing! Your house is like a dream! I love your furniture, decorations, your sense for details and great ideas. Thank you for sharing, it is very inspiring. I like your Christmas tree and that white ice skates on the wall, very original! Happy Christmas!

  7. It all looks beautiful! I love the new chalkboard in your dining room, a perfect touch. I also enjoy the neutral colors, it is such a peaceful and calm look. Thank you for sharing your lovely home on the tour. 🙂

  8. Because you are so talented and because your home is so lovely and because I am greedy, I wonder what happened to Lillie's room. Gorgeous!

  9. I first saw your home in the Christmas issue of Better Homes & Gardens and completely fell in love with your holiday style. You definitely inspired me to use a lot of things found in nature in my decorating this year. I love how it is so Christmas-y but without all the (sometimes) tacky store bought things. I have to ask, are your paper whites real or do you use faux ones? I purchased some real ones from my local grocery store and they're already over 2ft tall!

  10. Beautiful home! I've not visited your site before but now I'm wondering how I've missed it! Love everything about your holiday decorating. 🙂 Thanks for sharing. I'm so excited to be a part of the tour this year (stop 14!) This is so much fun!

  11. Jennifer, every details is so beyond fabulous! I am sitting here soaking in each detail. I seriously could sit on your porch for hours, it truly like another room of the house. It was so fun getting to debut the House Walk Tour with you and the other lovely ladies! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  13. Ohhhhh, your house looks absolutely gorgeous! I love all the green and natural elements you added, especially with the pretty neutrals and whites. Those little "joy tags" are so cute, and so pretty with the green ribbon and little buttons. I love how your whole house flows from one room to the next. It's amazing. And the hot chocolate bar is pretty much one of the best things EVER!

  17. Your home is beautiful, Jennifer.
I always enjoy seeing what you do each year……
I've pinned several things…particularly love the yarn and ruffle trees on the dining room table!!

  18. Beautiful home Jennifer, I absolutely love the Christmas tree and the way you have decorated it. I'm so jealous I want it!

  19. Jennifer,

Just stunning! So enjoyed the tour and the inspiration you've given. May I ask where you got the small lace-like containers that your paperwhites are in?? I would love one or two of those.

    Thank you…
    Pam

  20. Beautiful! I am poring over the photos of your lovely house while I sip my morning tea, silently promising myself that next year I will have at least one delicately decorated room without the colorful christmas toys that my boys insist on,thank you so much for sharing, Sally x

  21. WOW!!! Gorgeous! I am DYING to know what the font is called that you used on the "chestnuts roasting" chalkboard! I have been searching for it everywhwere. Do you know where I can find it or at lease the name of the font? THANKS!!

  22. To die for!!
I have always wanted to ask – how do you keep it so nice with two little ones? Mine looks like a bomb went off 30 mins after it was spotless due to my one girlie!

    1. Half of the day it looks like it does on the blog and the other half it looks like a war-zone! Haha! I literally feel like I spend all day cleaning. =)

  23. I LOVE your home! I will never get tired of looking at it, it's just gorgeous, and you did a great job once again in decorating it for the holidays. I used to live in an itty bitty town home when my kids were small, and honestly, it was one of the most cosy place we ever lived in, I just love small spaces.

  24. I love it all. You have such sweet little touches everywhere. I just might get my red and black cowboy boots out and put them by the tree with holly.

  25. Coming over from Jen Rizzo's site! Everything is beautiful and crisp…I would never leave the porch! Thanks for sharing! Christie at Three Pixie Lane

  26. Absolutely, positively gorgeous holiday decor throughout your home. I came to your post from Pinterest because I was looking for a creative cocoa/hot beverage station. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I saw the rest of the post!

    1. Hey Beth! I tried to hit reply but it went to that nocomment form. It's actually just my handwriting. I have enjoyed writing since the first grade and have always loved playing around with writing different ways. Strange, I know. Well, at least it was pretty strange when I was in elementary school. Not as strange now, fortunately.
