Happy Saturday! I can’t believe we are already a week into October! Today I wanted to share with you all some simple touches autumn I added to my home office. Just like all of our other spaces I kept it really simple. I love seasonal touches throughout the house but I don’t like it feeling too overwhelming so I like to stick with subtle touches like cozy throws and pillows for fall (and winter) and a few pumpkins and some more branches from our yard. I think this year I have cut more branches than any other year. This is our first autumn at this house and although we don’t have anything colorful in our yard yet, we do have a bunch of these branches that change from a deep shade of green to a beautiful burgundy and they last for quite a while in a vase of water so I have put them all throughout the house this year!
I often use baskets as vases – just put an actual glass or plastic vessel inside the basket for the water and then you can pretty much use any type of outer container that you want. This basket acts as an oversized vase for these branches and allows them to really make a statement.
Layering cozy plaid pillows with some furry ones and then adding a knit blanket can cozy any space up!
I never would have thought to get a bag at HomeGoods so I kind of stopped in my tracks when I saw this! I love the gray felt mixed with the leather handle and even if I only end up using it a couple of times it looks pretty as a decorative item in my office – haha!

Love this space!!!! It is very cozy. I cannot believe you got those fuzzy checked pillows from Target! They are sooooo nice!!! After seeing this post I am tempted to paint my desk out.
Thanks so much!!!
I love your bookshelf (and your office) but could not get the link to work that connected to how you made it. Can you help.
Thanks, Debbie! And sorry about that! It should be working now.
