Good morning! In between other projects, I am slowly trying to tackle the closets in our house and change out the wire shelving for wood shelves. You can see our entryway closet here. Last week I needed a break from the bathroom project and decided to finally tackle this closet in our laundry room. It was a really quick and easy project and I am not sure why I had put it off so long. I took the wire shelving out and patched the walls after dinner one night and then wallpapered and added the wood shelves and put everything back in the next day!

Although we downsized quite a bit with this house it has a lot of closets which is awesome! So this particular closet is all that “hard-working” so to speak. It just keeps some of our laundry detergent and baskets full of miscellaneous stuff, my tool bag, our “dog” blankets, and then extra soaps and candles and things like that hidden in some of the baskets (although once we made the closet prettier we put them on the shelves!)

Here is the before:

It’s hard to tell in most of these photos but I have been replacing all of the doorknobs downstairs with the  same ones I used in our bathroom and love what a difference the small change makes. I almost have the downstairs finished – I only have one left to do! I also painted the inside of the door to match the other side (when I initially did the laundry room makeover I only did the front side of the door).

This closet was quite difficult to photograph (I basically had to set my camera inside the cabinet above the washing machine – haha)! There’s also zero natural light in this room so that makes it tricky too and very shadowy but you can get the general feel for it.

We already had everything on hand except for some of the wood so this was a very inexpensive makeover. Besides some of the wood and two new hand soaps (which we are getting low in in our kitchen and bathroom so these won’t be in here very long) we already had pretty much everything on hand including all the baskets.

I started using the Laundress Bleach Alternative and Stain Solution pretty recently and am definitely hooked now!

And here’s a little reminder of the before and after of the rest of the laundry room.
