We’ve got quite a few projects to share in the next few weeks but none of them are quite ready yet so I thought today I’d introduce the newest member of our family, Ruby (or Baby Rue as she is called by Lillie and Lola). I wasn’t plan on doing a post about her (although I knew she’d be making her way into lots of photos – ha!) but we got so many messages about her that I figured it might be easiest to do a quick post. Plus I’ve already taken lots of pictures of her because she is the cutest thing I have ever seen in all my life – ha! So I might as well share them.
She is a Golden Retriever and she is eight weeks old today. I honestly never imagined we would have a dog but now after only a few days I can’t imagine not having her! The girls are completely obsessed with her and she absolutely loves them too. Ironically our plan wasn’t to get a golden retriever, we were going to go with something smaller and that didn’t shed as much but somehow after spending just about every afternoon this summer at the humane society (and not just here but on vacation too – ha!) and not having any luck bringing one home we went out to a farm to see Ruby when she was four weeks old and fell completely in love and that was that! Ha! We got to bring her home this past weekend and are having so much fun with her! It’s like having a baby and I can’t get over how cute she is. I know that she will be huge before I can even blink so I am taking lots of pictures to remember how tiny she was. If you don’t like puppy pictures I’d probably suggest not bothering to scroll down – ha! But if you do there are lots of them below! She’s had lots of fun exploring the house and already has some favorite spots.
She loves being in the girls’ rooms. She snuggles up in Lillie’s hanging chair and falls asleep – it’s so sweet.
Well, that’s our little Ruby! I’m sure you’ll be seeing lots more of her! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Warmly, Jenni
My husband and I are soooo jealous. Lillie & Lola are so lucky.
Congrats!!! She is so dear – THNX for sharing. Hope Ruby has a long, healthy & happy life 🙂 !!!
My heart is melting! She is so precious and you are going to be SO happy that you decided on a golden! We have a 5 1/2 year old female golden retriever and she is the love of our lives! Not only are goldens absolutely adorable but they have the most warm, loving personalities with just the right amount of goofiness mixed in. The shedding can be a pain but just keep her groomed regularly and vacuum a little more often. Totally worth it. Enjoy every precious moment!

Can see how you fell in love…… She’s adorable! Predicting she rules the roost soon if not already.
OMG….Ruby is just precious and has the sweetest face. I can see why everyone is in love with her already. My late mother in law’s name was Ruby so it has a special place in my heart. Good luck on the potty training! ha
So precious! You will love her. Golden’s are the most wonderful dogs for families. My kids use our golden as a step stool, they get on her back, they lay on her and all she does is eat up the attention.
seriously, she is the cutest!!
She’s such cutie, Goldens are wonderful dogs, we wouldn’t be without our beautiful Golden girl Flossy.
sooooo cute! We have a Lab, but I think every dog in the retriever family is amazing. good luck with potty training (ugh). It’s all worth it!
