Good morning! I am about to tackle some cosmetic makeovers for Lillie and Lola’s bathrooms. It’s funny because this house is quite a bit smaller square footage wise than our last couple of homes but it has more bathrooms. That was actually one of the things the girls loved most about this house – having their own bathroom. I can’t find the before shot of Lola’s bathroom (which is driving me crazy right now, because I could have sworn it was on my computer but is nowhere to be found and I’m writing this while she’s sleeping so I can’t run up and take one) so I’ll just use this before shot of Lillie’s for now and then come back in at some point and swap it out for Lola’s before shot. They are very similar though – same flooring, tub, mirrors, sconce, faucet, wall color, etc. The only difference is Lola’s is a little bit smaller and it’s flipped (vanity and toilet are on the left wall vs. right wall). Lola’s vanity is smaller and has a white quartz top, but other than that they are nearly identical. Like the other bathrooms, all we plan on doing is just kind of making them feel more personalized and custom by making some simple cosmetic changes like adding board and batten to the walls, changing out the mirror, sconce, and faucet and then adding some pattern in either with wallpaper or a fun patterned shower curtain.
So here is the before:
The idea is to make sure it flows nicely with her bedroom (you can see that here). Her main request was that it be blue (which if you’ve seen her last few bedrooms or her clothing you would know that pretty much everything she owns is blue – haha!) and then her two favorite things are dogs and basketball so I figured I would try to incorporate one or both of those things into the accessories.
This one I made more for my own enjoyment and included a vanity and flooring that I would lean towards if we were fully making her bathroom over. But we are not going to be doing that, so this were more of just for fun and a good starting off point. I knew I was pushing my luck with this wallpaper when I showed her and I was right! Haha! This one was definitely not a winner (although I love it!)

Toothbrush Holder / Vanity / Bath Mat / Hex Tiles / Toiler Paper Holder
I also included a vanity in this one that I would love to use if we were actually going to fully makeover the bathroom. However, the vanity that is in there is new and perfectly fine so we will just swap out the faucet and cabinet pulls. But this would have been the winner if we were fully making it over and ripping up the old tile and putting in a new vanity. She loved the overall look of this one although we tweaked a few things from this board to get it exactly how she liked it (the actual mood board we are going with is posted last).
Basketball Court Print / Basketball Hoop Print / Wallpaper / Sconce / Mirror / Towel / Hooks
Soap Dispenser / Toothbrush Holder / Vanity / Faucet / Bath Mat / Hex Tiles / TP Holder
I thought this actually was going to be the one she liked best but I was wrong. She definitely preferred the basketball option. And I have vanities included in these mood boards although they are just there to represent whether or not we will be keeping hers it’s existing white color or painting it blue (and same with the board and batten – it’s there to represent whether we’d paint it white or blue based on the other choices).
Golden Retriever “Ruby” Print / Black Dog “Teddy” Print / Wallpaper / Sconce / Mirror / Towel
Hooks / Soap Dispenser / Vanity / Bath Mat / Flooring / Toiler Paper Holder
She was not a fan of this wallpaper or sconce in this one but LOVED the basketball hooks (in fact she was the one who suggested we search for some) and the basketball soap dispenser. I have to say this was my least favorite mood board and almost didn’t even post it but it was the only one that had the basketball hooks she loved on it so that’s why I am posting it – haha!
Soccer and Basketball Prints / Wallpaper / Sconce / Mirror / Towel / Hooks
Soap Dispenser / Vanity / Faucet / Bath Mat / Flooring / Toiler Paper Holder
As you may have now guessed, Lola is definitely the most opinionated when it comes to decorating. She has a great eye and is usually the one I ask when I am torn on pretty much any decorating decision. I have always enjoyed doing my girls rooms and love having them feel like a reflection of their personalities and having them involved in the process. She was really excited about this final combo. I need to take some measurements tomorrow to confirm the sconce will fit and we are going to order the basketball hooks instead of the white ones but other than that this is the overall feel we are going with. We also are leaning towards painting the wall above the board and batten white and using the striped pattern on a shower curtain instead of as wallpaper but haven’t decided for sure on that yet. And I also haven’t decided on the flooring for sure – I have a few peel and stick flooring options I am getting samples of and I will probably go with a more budget friendly version of the faucet (the one in the mood board was a better image to work with in photoshop for the sake of the feeling of a mood board but this option we used in our bathroom has a similar feel but is considerably less expensive, and this one is as well).
So, although we may make a few tweaks as we go this is the plan for her bathroom with her full stamp of approval (except for the hooks – she prefers the basketball ones):
Basketball Court Print / Basketball Hoop Print / Wallpaper / Sconce / Mirror
Navy Towel / White Towels / Hooks / Soap Dispenser / Vanity
Faucet / Bath Mat / Flooring / Toiler Paper Holder
And that is it for today! I’ll be back later this week with the mood boards for Lillie’s bathroom. Hope you all have a great Tuesday!
Warmly, Jenni
