I’ve finally gone through all the photos I took of my parent’s kitchen one afternoon this summer while we were up there visiting. My parent’s moved into their new home just over a year ago and love every square inch of it. It is open (which is really nice when all of us kids and grandkids are swarming upon them) yet still cozy and warm feeling. The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in their new house. I love all of the classic details they chose and the timeless black and white color scheme. And the wide plank floors are gorgeous!

As much as I would love to take credit for this space the only thing I did was spend an hour taking photos. My mom is the one who designed this beautiful kitchen. I won’t bore you any more with any typing. Here are all the pictures:

Lillie and Lola LOVE the placement of the microwave and take great pleasure in getting to push the buttons themself when they are heating something up. A lot of people wondered about where we are putting our microwave when we posted our kitchen last week and I mentioned we’d like to do something like my parent’s. We obviously can’t do it in the same place but I’d like to find a way to built it into one of our lower cabinets.

  1. Your mom did a beautiful job!! Everything is so fresh!! Quick question…. I have wide planked floors just like your mom's, but mine need to all be refinished. Could you be so kind as to find out what make and color stain they used on their floors. The color is breathtaking!! I would be so appreciative. Thank you!!

    1. Thank you! And I agree – the color is beautiful! I am pretty sure that my mom kind of described the color she had in mind to my brother-in-law Josh's, brother Ryan, who then mixed several things together to come up with this custom color for the stain. I could be wrong though (my brain is generally functioning at 10% these days – haha!) so I will ask my mom tomorrow.

  2. Jennifer,
Absolute beautiful home. So crisp and clean AND oh so inviting.
I live in her neck of the woods. Somehow maybe I can get myself invited for tea (wink).
Thanks for sharing such lovely photos.

  4. So, so pretty! And it makes my teeth hurt wanting our kitchen remodel finished! We've been literally in the middle of a full DIY gut remodel since July. Ahhhhhhhhh, I want a pretty kitchen now! The pictures are great and I love, love, love all the things on the counters.

  5. So beautiful!! Your Mom was so sweet and gave me a tour a few weeks ago when I stopped by. I love the neutrals! So clean and peaceful.

  6. Hi Jennifer, Please tell your Mom thanks for inviting us into her kitchen. It's beautiful! Love the soothing color and the light fixtures over the island are perfect.

  7. Love your Moms kitchen! I can see where you get your great decorating style from…can you tell me where your Mom got her toaster? I just love it! Thanks, Jackie

  8. Thank you for sharing! I have a silver plate pitcher that has been sitting around because I didn't know what to do with it. I love how your mom put her's to use and totally copied her!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. I think it's neat how both your parents' and sister's kitchens have a similar little breakfast nook!

  10. Everything looks amazing! The kitchen, the dining room, even the guest room looks fantastic! And I agree about the white and black color scheme; it might seem simplistic, but it has that pristine and classic look that you canโ€™t just overlook.

  11. I love those curtains in your mom's guest room and dining room. Did she make those too? Or buy them. Thanks so much!
