Good morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Today I wanted to share with you my favorite counter stools along with several other of my favorite  items from our partner, Serena and Lily!

The very first items we ordered for this house were these Avalon swivel counter stools! They actually arrived before we even moved in so the minute we closed on the house I unboxed them and carried them right in, so they were the very first pieces of furniture placed in this house. I had been eying them for quite a while and knew they would be absolutely perfect for this island when I saw this house! After measuring the space I ordered three. I was absolutely THRILLED when I unpacked them. They were even more beautiful in person and I was so delighted with them. We have lived at quite a few houses now and I have to say these are my favorite counter stools we’ve ever owned. I absolutely love the look of the rattan against the dark island and my girls love them because they swivel. I also just love the overall shape and design of them.

The stools are made with natural rattan frame with hand-wrapped rattan details and have a steel ball-bearing mechanism that allows them to swivel a full 360° which is not only fun for kids but ideal for adults getting in and out of them too! Honestly, I think that is my favorite feature on them! It makes them so easy to get in and out of without really having to slide them. They are easy to clean. I just dust them with a soft dry cloth. We have the counter height but they also have them in a bar height as well. They are also really sturdy. They can hold up to 300 pounds, which is great for us because although we often have small children in our house, they are capable of comfortably holding the college basketballs players that sit here as well.

So much of our life is spent up here at this island and on these stools with the puppies right there by our feet. Ruby somehow often manages to squish in between two of them so she can be right there with us. We eat pretty much every breakfast and lunch here and during busy stretches of the year we often find ourselves eating dinner here as well. This is also where we find ourselves eating desserts and the girls have spent many an evening sitting here working on homework. They are comfy enough that you can often even find one of the girls sitting in them reading a book. We have also have done many many projects sitting in them over these past two years. I truly can’t recommend them enough!

We are selling this house (we actually close on it later today, although we will be living in it for a couple of more weeks before we close on our new house so I’ll be holding off sharing more info on that until we have closed on the new one) and we are leaving these with the new owners because they work so perfectly in this spot. In the new house I think we are going to need a darker stool and we are eyeing these Portside counter stools from Serena and Lily as well as these Millbrook counter stools. I am also a big fan of these Tucker counter stools. Serena and Lily just has so many beautiful counter stools and bar stools to choose from!

Another one of my favorite purchases from Serena and Lily is this Rosecliff Chandelier. At 33.5″ wide this light fixture has a nice substantial size to it. The overall classic lines and antique brass finish give this chandelier a completely timeless feel to it. I originally left the shades on it but then later decided to remove them and add some fun round bulbs to give it a more modern feel. I also can add them back on at any point to give it a more formal feel.

Here’s a closer look at the chandelier:

If you have been reading our blog for any length of time then you have seen this Poetto Vase featured over and over. It is my go-to vase. It is the perfect size (I have the small) and I love keeping it full of fresh flowers. The simple sleek design works in any room of our house and it regularly gets moved from room to room! These are new photos here at the top of the post but further down in the post you can see it featured in several other spots in our home these past couple of years.

Here’s a close-up of the stools:

Serena and Lily has the most amazing quality pillows. We have them throughout our home but here are a few of my favorites: the Cuesta, the Del Mar, and the Camilla Scroll Pillow.

Here is another beautiful light fixture from Serena and Lily. This one  is the Pescadero Tiered Chandelier and it really makes a statement:

In our entryway we have this sophisticated Greenwood table lamp and this simple yet elegant Claremont sconce.

And then we also have this 29″ Capiz Honeycomb Chandelier.

We also love this dip-dyed stool (we have two of them and they are come in handy around the house) :

And the quality of this Moroccan leather pouf  is amazing. The leather is so beautiful!
