Jamie planted a bunch of paperwhite bulbs a few weeks ago and they looked absolutely beautiful!

The Ikea containers she put them in weren’t quite tall enough to cover the plastic containers she planted the bulbs in so she added a little ruffle to the top of them. I love the touch they add!

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

  1. What a pretty kitchen! I love the paperwhites. I planted some a few weeks ago and so far they aren't doing too much. I think I might have to take them out of the gravel I planted them in and move them to soil.

  2. I love the kitchen and the paperwhites are beautiful.I really like the roman shade in the kitchen window. Did Jamie or your Mom make this? Do you have a tutorial on these? Is that a brown or black stripe? The little wreaths are so cute too. Your house and Jamies always looks wonderful. Donna

  3. I can see that gorgeous interiors run in the family! I adore paperwhites, and have some growing now also. In fact, I've been thinking I just may keep planting them in succession throughout the spring (or find a great faux variety).

  4. Beautiful kitchen! Simple but beautiful decorations! I had intended to do paperwhites this year but somehow I got distracted đŸ™‚ But it isn't too late, just can't do them for Christmas. And yes, I want that pillow!

  5. Just beautiful! I love paperwhites. They add such a lovely unexpected touch in the middle of winter.

And I have a question…I'm simply in love with the picture frame in Jamie's dining room on the buffet. (The one that looks like your mirror). Wherever did she find it?

Everything looks lovely! (I would expect nothing less!!)

  6. Thanks, everyone!!!

Donna – Jamie made the shades and hand painted the brown stripes. I really love the way they turned out, they look even better in person!

Wendy – Me too! I've been trying to find one like it ever since she got it. She found it at a place called White Home Collection in Wilton, New Hampshire. If she ever runs across another I will let you know. Also, I'm going to email you later this afternoon when I get a chance.

  7. Gorgeous!! I planted paper whites last year and the got so tall they just flopped over. I know there's ways to wpro around that but I wasn't brave enough to try this year but these photos make me wish I had!

  8. OHHHHH Jenni, you never cease to amaze me!!! GORGEOUS my friend as usual. I don't know how you do it with those 2 wee ones. I hope you have been enjoyinghte hooliday season so far. I have been crasy leately!!

  9. Thanks!

Shelley – I'm guessing either Jo-Ann Fabrics or New England Fabrics, as those are the only two fabric stores right near her. I will try to remember to ask next time I talk to her.

  10. This looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! here is my question though….I love the look of paper-whites and have had them a few years but I loathe the smell. I think it is repulsive. It is just me?

  11. It is funny – I have the most intense sense of smell (seriously, ask my family, it is quite annoying most of the time – haha) but Jamie's paperwhites didn't smell at all. Do you think maybe there is a variety that doesn't and some other ones that do? I don't know?

  12. So beautiful! I love Paperwhites. They add just that extra little touch! I was able to pick a couple up at the grocery store for .50 @ a couple weeks ago (manager's special). I grabbed them up quickly because they were just what I needed for a certain spot. I did notice the smell the first couple of days, but have gotten used to it, I guess! The thing that I can't get over is how tall they get. Mine keep falling over! Anyway, your sister's house is gorgeous!

  13. Their house looks beautiful! I was wondering how you attached the vines over your dinning? I think they look absloutly enchanting with the lights! I'd love to borrow this idea. Thanks Jenn you always inspire me.

  14. Thanks!

Olga – I just went out to the woods and cut a bunch of vines, and then put 5 or 6 long skinny nails in the wall (I left them sticking out about an inch), and then just hung/balanced the vines on the nails.
