Good morning! We are joining a bunch of our blogging friends for the third installment of this year’s Seasons of Home Tour. Today we are sharing our fall family room with some fall decor. Ours is VERY simple this year – just a couple of pumpkins and some leaves cut from some trees in our yard. That’s usually all we do in our main living space anyway though – add a few pumpkins and switch up the fresh summer flowers to more colorful tree branches. I think I may add a fall wreath in here and take down the topiaries from our mantel once I can find some more pumpkins, but so far I haven’t seen very many so until I do the topiaries will stay. I sometimes switch up my pillows and throws a bit in our family room for fall but this year I don’t think I will in this room (although I probably will in our more formal living room because the colors in that room lean toward the warm autumn colors more than this room does). I most likely will add some more cozy elements in here though once the weather starts to get cooler and we get closer to the holiday season. For now though I just added a handful of simple touches.
And because before and afters are always kind of fun here’s a reminder of what this room looked like when we moved here:
We don’t have any bright colored autumn leaves yet here but I love the burgundy color that these leaves add to the room. They last quite a while in the vase too which is nice! I got this textured gold vase at Target this summer on sale for about $12 and it has become one of my favorite vases (in fact I bought more than one – ha!)
Over by our coffee bar area we added a simple arrangement in our copper pitcher with some fall branches and berries peeking out and then a few more pumpkins.

Absolutley stunning!
Thanks, Joanne 🙂
The before and after is incredible. Love the simple fall touches.
Thank you so much, Lauren!
I have the same gold vase from Target and have wondered if it’s okay to fill with water. Do you put your branches in water? Thanks so much for the post- I love the simplicity of your fall additions, yet they beautifully bring the change of seasons indoors.
Thanks, Becky! We don’t know if it technically is meant to be filled with water or not, but Jenni has been putting water in it for about two months now (with all sorts of flowers and branches in them), and hasn’t had any issue yet. Hope this helps!

Thank you, Jason!
I LOVE this space – between the dark lower cabinets and that beautiful hutch it’s so moody and calming. Absolutely lovely!
Best,
Kelly
Thank you, Kelly! 🙂
