Hello! I hope you are having a great weekend! Today we are going to share some progress photos of our new living room. I took these photos a little over a week ago and have since painted the built in bookshelves on either side of the fireplace Black Magic by Sherwin Williams and then my husband and I cleared all this furniture and out into the garage and guest room because the floors have been getting redone this past week! I can’t wait to share updated pictures as soon as we get everything moved back in this week. And if you are wondering why in the world we moved all the furniture in and then moved it back out, it’s because this was the first time slot the flooring company had available and it would have cost considerably more to have our furniture stored for weeks and us having to stay in a hotel, than to do a door to door move. So even though pretty much every muscle in my body is still sore, it definitely was a lot more cost effective to do it this way.
Here is the progress we made the first couple of weeks with just paint, changing light fixtures and adding draperies. All the furniture and accessories are things we already owned although over time they may make their way into other spaces in this house as we add a few new items into this room. I don’t have any recent before shots because this house wasn’t ever on the market and it felt weird taking pictures when we were in the house looking at it with the owner so these are from the original listing from when they purchased it several years before.
So here’s a before of the living room from this angle:
And here is a progress shot from a similar angle:
Here’s another before angle:
And here’s a progress shot from a similar angle: (I can’t wait to show you how it looks now with the built-ins painted black! It might be another week or two before I have a blog post ready with those but I’ll try to post a picture of them in our stories at some point this coming week!)
We are having this sofa recovered (it’s sort of hard to tell in these pictures but it’s got a good bit of wear on it from the dogs, and the seat cushion is quite faded from being washed so many times) so we are recovering it in this pet friendly fabric. We’ve got the fabric, we are just waiting on the upholstery shop to have an opening.
I will share more angles of this room once we make a little more progress on it. I can’t wait to be able to put our furniture back in this coming week! And I’ll be back Monday with some photos I took of our breakfast nook before we cleared everything back out. (And here you can see the patio of our new home and Lillie’s room).
