Good morning! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. I can’t believe we are already half way through May. Our life has been quite hectic lately so I haven’t had time for many projects but I did have fun making this white tulip cake with russian piping tips a few days ago. The cake stand is just a marbled scalloped tray I’ve had for several years (you can find a similar one here and here) on a wood cake stand base that broke off of another cake stand I used to have. For the white tulips I used a tip from this set and for the leaves I used a tip from this set. The little beads are just these little chocolate candies.
The cake itself was a three tiered six inch cake with chocolate icing between the layers. You can see some videos and more details on some of our other cakes here and here.
And here is a video on how to make these tulips on this white tulip cake:
(You can see that full blog post here).
I think these tulips are my favorite way to decorate cakes and cupcakes because they are actually quite easy but give the appearance of requiring so much skill and effort. The make such a statement yet really the piping tip does all the work! I look forward to making lots more of the tulip cakes in the coming years and trying out some new colors. So far I have done some peach ones, some pink ones, some purple ones and now these white tulips.
The beading around the edge also was so easy yet adds an elegant finishing touch to the cake!
Well, that’s it for today! I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday and week ahead!
Warmly, Jenni
