Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It sure was an exciting one with all of the crazy finishes in the opening rounds of the NCAA tournament. It’s definitely one of our family’s favorite weekends of the year! Today we wanted to share with you a simple Easter brunch tablescape and some mix and match seating options in our dining room.
If you have been reading our blog for any length of time you will know that in all three of our homes that we have lived in since blogging have always had a mix of different seating at our dining room table! Sometimes we have had just different head chairs and sometimes we’ve had benches as well as two different types of chairs. Most of the chairs we have owned have been relatively neutral so it allows us to swap from our dining room and breakfast table or even from the porch to get a variety of different looks depending on how formal or casual of a look we are planning on going for at the time. These Paige Dining Chairs are some of my absolute favorite ones! We purchased two of them several years ago and recently just added two more. This allows us to use all four at our breakfast table, or sometimes all four in here and sometimes like with this table setting we used two and then two are upstairs around the table in our bonus room! We also have had our X-Back Chairs for years and absolutely LOVE their versatility! Another thing we have always done is have a larger chair at each end of the table. I love the presence these chairs add and they are also extra comfortable and great for guests when you plan on spending a long time sitting at the table chatting after a meal! We’ve had these ones for almost ten years. They are slipcovered which is particularly ideal because if we ever have any kind of major spill we can pull them off and put them through the washing machine!
Then sometimes we add a bench to the mix! We have used benches without back which our kids love and then sometimes we move a higher backed bench in as well. At our last house we had one that we used quite often but unfortunately it was damaged during our last move so we were never able to use it in here. When we got this beautiful new wingback piece for our entryway I knew that it would also be fun to use in our dining room once in a while when I wanted to mix things up a bit and I really love how it looks in here!
For our table setting we kept things clean and simple. We started off with our favorite table runner from World Market. Then we added some white dishes and we used a mini cheese slate board at each place as a menu (and it can also act as a little favor to your guests) and then topped that with some adorable egg cups.
We love these vases with the gold bottoms. We have a few of them and use them throughout the house. I love that they have a modern touch to them yet still can be used in a traditional space! I still haven’t finished my poor cow painting…ha!
Here are some wide angled shots of the room:
That’s it for today! We also did a more whimsical table setting for the kids in our breakfast area! I will share that this weekend! I hope you all have a fabulous week!
