Today we are going to share a simple Thanksgiving table setting, but first want to acknowledge out lack of posting over the last couple of weeks and why our heart just isn’t going to be in the holiday posts that we have coming up over the next several weeks. This is hard to write. For the last several years we’ve intentionally chosen to keep our family life very separate from Dear Lillie and keep this just a professional page. That being said as I move forward posting holiday content to fulfill commitments and contracts I already have in place, I need to acknowledge that although this is my job and a source of income for our family, my heart is not in it right now. We tragically suffered the loss of our beloved brother-in-law in a farm equipment accident at the end of October and our entire family and extended family is reeling from this. Although I do need to continue working and therefore posting, I ask for your patience, privacy and your prayers for my sister and her children.

Simple Thanksgiving Table

A few weeks ago we shared a fall table setting that would work for autumn and Thanksgiving that featured some greenery, pears and a cake as a centerpiece and now we want to share a really simple table setting that still feels elegant and has a more traditional Thanksgiving feel to it. (And you can click here to see some of our other Thanksgiving table settings over the years).

For this table setting we used a linen runner (similar here) that we have had for years and put that down the center of the table. We then added these candle holders which I love. I actually ordered several sets of them because I love them so much! And then I used these candles (14″ in the taupe brown color).  In the center of the table I  added a cake stand and just simply set a real pumpkin on it. At each table setting I  used my Emma dishes that I’ve had since our wedding fifteen years ago and then just wrapped a napkin in some beautiful velvet ribbon I got from our craft store (similar can be found here and here) and tucked some dried wheat that I have had for years into each napkin.

When I took these photos I still was waiting on the side chairs to arrive so these photos still have the outdoor patio chairs in here as filler chairs. However, I will be sharing some Christmas photos of this room very soon and those contain the new side chairs!

That’s it for today. I will be back tomorrow with some more photos of this Thanksgiving setup and a few sneak peaks at some of our Christmas decor.
