Well, there are still no pumpkins to be found in Williamsburg – ugh! (If any local people reading this happen to see any when you are out and about let me know). So, my fall decorating for this year still needs some finishing touches. I want it to look a little different from the past couple of years. In the mean time, though, I thought I would share some of our fall decorating from last year:

These two (very poorly lit) shots are from a couple of years ago:

  1. Jenni, question for you…where do you get all the feathers and the feather wreath? I can't find anything but faux feathers around here.

    1. I bought the wreaths quite a few years ago at Pier 1 and the feathers are a mix – some are real that my dad collects for me and some have been gifts or found at local stores.

  2. beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL! I really wish I knew how you made that pretty fireplace mantel with the beadboard. I love it and am totally inspired to create one for my living room! Happy Labor Day!

    1. Thanks! I found the mantel at a consignment shop and then just attached the beadboard behind it (I honestly can't even remember how – maybe those oversized staples, or maybe wood glue?) and then my father-in-law helped me screw it to the wall! It was quite easy and really helped add a focal point to the room!

  3. I'm surprised! They are everywhere here in NC (Raleigh) but last year I bought too soon and it was not good. They stink when it is 98 degrees outside. Surely they'll be in Williamsburg soon.

  4. I was just saying to my mom earlier that I can't find pumpkins anywhere yet! I'm ready to decorate with them now though…don't all the stores know that ๐Ÿ™‚
Hopefully they'll be out soon, fall decorating isn't the same without them. Love your style!

  5. Love your decor and decorating sytle. Where did the pillows in your living room come from that are cream/tan zibra looking print? Did you purchase or make them, if so were did they fabric come from?

    Thanks,
    Donna

    1. Thanks, Donna! I made them from scrap fabric from a store I used to work at in SC. I can't remember the brand, but I do remember it was very expensive and I was thrilled to be able to get it for free! =)

  6. so very pretty! I am excited to see your fall decor this year, too, but I'm not sure how you can top last years =) I made that pumkin bundt cake several times last fall. So yummy!

  7. I'm not sure where you are located, but here in Indiana it is a little early for pumpkins to be in the markets. In fact, I saw a field full of them last week, so it looks like there will be a good harvest. Have patience, girls! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Just stunning! My fave time of year and do excited living here this year for my first fall in the area. Could you direct me to any info with fall events or pumpkin patches ? We had soo many in Northern CA, I am sure they've got to have them here.

    1. We went to a pumpkin patch somewhere outside of Richmond two years ago – kind of a long drive and it was okay but not necessarily the greatest thing. Then last year we went to a place on Richmond Road towards Toano which was nice!

    2. Thanks !!! I did a google search and found a few but wanted an opinion from a local. If you ever make it to the SF area, Half Moon Bay is magical during the Fall season and their annual pumpkin festival is a great one !

  9. REally liked the last two photos, they make me want to start my fall decorating…but my house has been neglected cuz its all about the shops…however I think I will be able to get back in a balanced groove and your pics have inspired me.

  10. I "Fall" for your gorgeous design style every season. Your attention to detail and the unexpected, captures my heart. You inspire me. Looking forward to this years decor.

  11. I love your site! Can you tell me a little more about the white pumpkins and gourds? Did you buy them, or paint them white? Thanks so much! Cheryl

    1. They are a mix. Some were purchased at a store called Savvy here in Williamsburg, and some are just a mix of pumpkins from places like Joanns, Hobby Lobby, etc. that I have collected on sale over the ears and painted white.

    1. Thanks! They are pewter. I got them several years ago at a shop in Williamsburg called Seasons on clearance. I've checked to see if they got any more in and they never have. =(

  12. You are so creative! Your home is beautiful, your children are adorable and your ideas are so inspiring! I look forward to reading your blog posts every day!
