Good morning! Today I am going to share the mood boards we made for Lillie and Lola’s rooms in our new house. I say “we” because they worked side by side with me on these. Although they have always been very much involved in decorating their rooms over the years now that they are older I let them pretty much take the reigns this time around. Lillie wanted a New York City room with some volleyball accents. She also wanted the option of some specific Stanford volleyball decor items too so we made two designs that incorporated some general volleyball elements and one that was specifically Stanford volleyball. The main thing she wanted was a huge New York City mural and then LED lights around the top of her room. She zoned in pretty quickly on this mural from Limitless Walls so that became the backdrop for all of her mood boards.

This was the first one we did which had some light blue touches to it:

New York City Wall Mural Light Fixture  /  Bed  /  Square Pillows on Bed  /  Lumbar Pillow on Bed
Volleyball Patent Print  /  Nightstand  /  Lamp on Nightstand  /  Alarm Clock  / Throw
Pin Board  /  Volleyball Net Patent Print  /  Desk Desk Chair  / Fuzzy Chair
Square Pillow in Chair  /  Lumbar Pillow on Chair  /  Mirror  / Dresser  /  Lamp on Dresser

Then this one we added some mint touches to:

New York City Wall Mural  /  Light Fixture  /  Bed  /  Virginia Print  /  Nightstand  /  Lamp on Nightstand
Volleyball Prints  /  Desk  /  Desk Chair  / Green Pillow Pillow with Pom Pom Trim
Mirror  / Dresser Lamp on Dresser

And then here is the Stanford one:

New York City Wall Mural  /  Light Fixture  /  Bed  /  Dotted Shams on Bed  /  Stanford Pillow on Bed
Palo Alto Print Nightstand  /  Lamp on Nightstand  /  Alarm Clock  / Throw
Pin Board  /  Stanford Pennant  /  Desk  /  Desk Chair  / Volleyball Prints  /  Fuzzy Chair
Square Pillow in Chair  /  Lumbar Pillow on Chair  /  Mirror  / Dresser  /  Lamp on Dresser

Next up is Lola’s room. Lola wanted a gray and blue room with a Harry Potter, tennis and basketball theme. Haha! She literally sat right next to me and pretty much did this mood board herself. I have to admit Lola’s room may never actually make it onto the blog this time around because she’s pretty much already set it up and decorated it herself but she loves her new room so much and that makes me happy!

Tennis Print  /  Nightstand  /  Bed  /  Striped Pillows  / Atlanta Hawks Pillow  /  Light Fixture
Gray Chair Square Pillow in ChairBasketball Pillow  /  Floor Lamp  / Pin Board
Hogwarts Pennant / Desk / Desk Chair  /  Rug  /  MirrorLamp  / Mini Scoreboard
Racket (Vintage)  /  Basketball Hoop Print  /  Basketball Court Print  / Basketball Trash Can

Based on availability and other factors she swapped out a few things and this was her second variation:

Racket (Vintage)   /  Tennis Print  /  Bed  /  Striped Pillow  /  Atlanta Hawks Pillow
Light Fixture  / Gray Chair  /  Square Pillow in Chair  /  Floor Lamp
Pin Board  /  Hogwarts Pennant / Desk / Desk Chair  /  Rug  /  Mirror
LampMini Scoreboard /  Basketball Hoop Print  /  Court Print  / Basketball Trash Can

Just to clarify. We do NOT buy everything on these mood boards. We use them as general starting points to get the overall look we are going for and do typically buy many of the focal point items but then also mix in items we already own or hunt for deals on similar items to what is shown and usually end up pretty close to the overall feel of the mood boards.

I’ll be back later this week with some photos of the progress we’ve made so far in Lillie’s room!

Hope you have a lovely day!

Warmly, Jenni
