Good morning! Today is our second to last post before we take a little holiday break. I hope you enjoyed the dollhouse and gingerbread posts from this weekend. Today I am going to share some pictures of our little front porch area – both with the navy accents we kept and at the bottom with the red I originally tried out here. As I mentioned in our Holiday Housewalk post, we have always had traditional looking exteriors in the past which I am most drawn to but this last move was a bit unexpected and we ended up buying a house with a different style exterior than we have had in the past. At first it threw me off a bit because it is very asymmetrical but now that we’ve cozied up the front porch it feels more like home. Every year for as long as I can remember we’ve gotten our fresh greenery for our porch from Lynch Creek Farms. They have the most lush garland and wreaths and I just love them so much. This year I went with these wreaths (I ended up swapping out the bows from some blue ones I made with some blue velvet ribbon I had on hand, although I did love the ribbons that came with them) and then I got the same Cedar Garland that I’ve gotten the last several years because it is my favorite!
As usual Teddy found his way into several photos. Ruby is much more photogenic, but she isn’t as determined to be in all the pictures – hahaha!
I got the skis years ago from Birch Lane and the sled and snowshoes are both vintage that I’ve had for years now. The skates were mine when I was younger.
Here’s a quick picture of the garland without the lights on. I usually weave a strand or two into my garland so that it looks pretty once it gets dark.
I prefer not to show full exterior shots of our home for privacy reasons but we added lights to several trees in our yard this year (which can’t be seen in these photos but it felt so festive and I am so glad we did it!) and also I finally pulled the trigger on some “creatures” for the lawn that the girls have been begging for for the last couple of years. I got these on Amazon for a great price (although I bought them in mid November, the price since then has doubled and even tripled – so I definitely recommend ordering them early in the season).
And then here are some pictures of the porch with some red accents. When I ordered the wreaths with the red striped bows I planned on using red out here. But after 24 hours I realized that no one in my family was a fan of red and all three other family members strongly voted for the blue so we ended up with the blue. Haha! I do like the red too though!
I hope you all have a fabulous Monday!
